Good morning, BYM
To make a ticker, follow the instructions:
Click on 'Home page' Top left of screen
Go down to Topic 6 down to 'Sleevers Monthly' click on
Go down 13 or so threads until you finf 'February 2011 Sleevers'
Click on this one and your away.

To make a Ticker:
Click on 'Home page' Top left of screen
Go down to Topic 1 down to 'Welcome aboard all newbies' click on
Go down to the 'Sticky note' 'How to make a ticker' thread
Follow the instructions.

That is how I did it; great thread, great reading, great assistance.

You will not delete hurt anything; just have a play and do some reading; everything you need to know mostly is on this site somewhere. There is a Search item at the top which is great for finding a particular topic/thread more easily.

Have fun looking.

Hi BYM and welcome to the forum.

I too, had been overweight all my adult life and with 5 gorgeous grandkids wanted to see them grow up into young adults.

Getting sleeved was one of the best decisions I have ever made.
I love my sleeve and all the energy I now have.

Good luck with your journey and surgery.

Hi BYM
I am 54 and just had my sleeve 8 days ago! Caz confirms why it is worth the effort - I had stopped planning ahead for anything, because I have been so unwell recently due to obesity related illness. The wonderful people on this site, no matter where the live, will support you in your brave efforts to prolong your life in good health.
Very best wishes for your pending surgery and recovery and SUCCESS!

Hi there BYM. I was the same age as you when I started this process and did it for a similar reason. While my grandchildren aren't on the other side of the world, I certainly want to be able to keep up with them for many years to come.

While everyone is different, I can tell you it has certainly worked for me. I have so much more energy, have lost all my excess weight (and have a totally new wardrobe).

I can't tell you how happy I am that I had this operation.

Good luck
Caz

Hi There Caz,
Thank you so much for taking the time to give me some encouragement! I really appreciate it and you look amazing in your photos... I can't believe how amazing this will be!

Got My Date Empty
PostSubject: Got My Date   Got My Date EmptySun 24 Oct 2010, 3:39 pm

This morning I waited for the surgeon my second visit, she reviewed l my test results, gave me a whole bunch more to do but approved my surgery... I am 59, and have been obese all my life. (apart from one year when I starved my self age 18; )
My motivation for this surgery has come after a year of Ill health , I realized that I am not able to do much during the day, and with a baby grandson living the other side of the world I want to be able to get on the plane and visit him without feeling uncomfortable.
embarrassed, and risking my health. There isn't a pill or a diet I haven't tried , to let out the inner thinner woman the Gastric Sleeve is my last hope.
Now I am am all of a quiver, will this actually happen? How will it change my life? what is the recovery like? I would like to hear from anyone (especially someone who has had surgery in Israel )
I will be going in without understanding the language and the other side of the world from my family so virtual support for cold feet would be wonderful !
Best wishes
BYM
