| Hi there I am 1 and 3/4 years out (done Feb 2009)
I lost in total 30kgs within a year, but since Feb I have slowly gained 3kgs back since then through poor food choices and snacking - so yes, you CAN gain back weight even with a sleeve.
No regrets and no complications. Sophia

| Any surgeon you speak to will tell you, at this point in time there is no substantial long term data for the Gastric Sleeve as weight loss surgery. This surgery has been used for other purpose's (cancer patients etc).
So, really the answer's your looking for aren't readily available as yet- and according to my surgeon wont be for a fair while to come.
However, there is plenty of wonderful sleevers here that are between 1-2 years post surgery- that will happily share their experiences, thus far!
Good luck though with whatever you decide.

| Hello Sandra, This is a positive surgery. I have lost 42 kilos in 5 months. I am truelly amazed and sometimes I cry because I know that this time I will succeed. When my clothes become too big I don't hesitate to bag them up and pass them on. I will never be that big again. I love my sleeve. Margi. | |

| The Sleeve is a relatively new surgery in Australia as well. There are a couple of people on here that have been done for about 3 years.
I want to know how many complications you have had ? I didn't have any medical complications but it took my brain a while to figure out that I physically cannot eat what I used to eat.
How much weight you have loss? One year and 1 week out I have lost 45 kilos
And have you gain any weight back ? Still losing weight
And if you regret that you did the operation? Definitely NO REGRETS
