| Just watched it - he was doing BPD's but doing them incorrectly. I thought the reporting wasn't bad - they stated that when it's done properly, the procedure is excellent for weightloss, but in this Dr's hands, it was a disaster. Apparently 10 of his previous patients are suing him. | |

| That's the one. He was at the Gold Coast.Think he's not working any more. Only a few hospitals gave him operating rightsafter the deaths. The story was on tv a few weeks ago too. It's a shame it's negative publicity. | |

| If he is the doctor I think you are talking about Jen, he is about the only remaining surgeon out there that does the old fashion BDP that is done with a RNY pouch instead of a sleeve and a far far to short channel, resulting in severe malnuttrision even death. He was all over the news a few years ago when he killed 2 people. As in they survived the surgery but died from malnutrision. If it is him it will be such a negetive story. I hope not It would be good to see the bypas get a good story anf for people not to think that what that hack does is the modern BDP DS.

| I might be wrong, but I saw a brief clip of the show and the surgeon looked like Russell Broadbent from QLD. All you have to do is google his name and you get a long list of negative publicity about him. My understanding is that he does mainly gastric bypass, either the BPD or DS. It will be interesting for me to watch as I have the BPD, but really this guy has a terrible reputation and with a surgery like bypass you really want a surgeon with a spotless reputation with recommendations from his peers and patients.
It will no doubt be a beat up on the surgeon but also weight loss surgery.
I just hope I don't get any negative phone calls from so called friends and rellies, because honestly i'm in the mood to tell them to just fark off! 53kg down.....who cares how i've done it.

| Apparently theres something on Today Tonight (channel 7) about a weight loss surgeon in Brisbane or something and 2 people are telling their stories. I am going to try and watch it but if someone could watch it for me because i might not get home in time to see it!!! I have a feeling it might be about the gastric bypass but I will be watching!!!! Hope they wont make weight loss surgery sound like a bad idea
