| yep, i thought it was just plate decoration/pattern too!
i'm glad to hear that everything is going well for you Sam, apart from the lovely lingering barbie scent.
tho pete, while your avatar is very cute and cuddly and made me smile, i'm sure it's not doing anyone any favours! lol
luckily i prefer HJ's (the burgers are better!) and to procure one involves an 8 hour round trip for me.
actually, i drove up and back to Kal today on a mission, but the thought of stopping at any of the fast food places didn't even enter my head.
it was so buggerishly hot we had the aircon on full blast and the windows up. if the windows were down, however, it might have been a different story, as we have a 500m strip of road that has most of the evil places of (non) nutrition wafting out their meaty-juicy-eat-me smell!
as it was i only had time to pick up a fillet of smoked salmon to mung on, on the trip home. the car reeked but it was sooo yum!
the last time i did the trip i had to buy $50 bucks worth of KFC for the school gardener, and 14 whoppers for a local family who had a kids birthday that night. the trip today was only decided last night, so thank god it was a stealth mission and we didn't have any of the usual fast food requests!

| I thought your photo looked like some cheesy mince, and the plate had a printed border. It's quite obvious now that they are strawberries, but not something I would have guessed when I thought it was a meat dish. No strawberries or other fruit allowed with Optifast on my pre-op diet...
I have banned all food smells in the house to make the Optifast easier, but every show I watched on TV last night seemed to feature people cooking or eating. I'm sure the food smells at your place is going to be the hardest part for you.
3Kg lost since surgery what a great start.

| around the edge of the 'unmentionable item' are freshly sliced strawberrys and little silver 'happy birthday's' which my sweet little 15 year old daughter prepared for a birthday surprise for me once. Of everything on the plate, the fresh strawbs were the best and I'm sure they fall under the fruit/vege allowance of optifast.- hehe and hey, despite only having the sleeve a few days ago I nearly cried last night when the family dug into steak, salad and chips all cooked on the barbie on a sultry hot night where no matter where I hid, the delicious smells wafted along behind me ... so I'm suffering along with yah babee ! but, when I got up this morning, I'd lost another kilo - yin yang :-) | |

| lolly cake??? never heard of one of those!
and FGS DON'T do a description or write out the recipe...i'm on optifast, and don't need need to be tempted into a "must try before i die" situation. (or must try b4 sleeving)
i felt sure it was a plate of nachos!

| Hah - blended nachos sound as yukky as blended baked beans ..... but each to their own. My avatar is so naughty; it's delicious lolly cake. Actually, the op has switched off my liking for sweet things already. I gag my way through apple juice, so perhaps I should look at deciding what my new fave food will be. I'm chipper but headachy - I think my body is waving goodbye to all the white death sugar and it's poking my brain in revenge. | |

| Noooooooooo Steph. heheh. I was 107 when I decided to have the sleeve and dropped to 98 when I had it done on Friday. I think I'm around 96 though, so a kilo a day is good enough :-) My boobs are all but a memory yet I still get to cart the fat ass around - aint life grand :-) | |

| Thanks Kal girl. I can't believe how calm I am. My hubby and I are laffing coz the last ordinary food I will eat for a bit was ..... *drumroll* a sausage, some mashed spud and veges ... how utterley non-exotic. I actually really don't like sausages, I was planning on a nice salmon steak but kids got in the way. heheh. Off to have my special shower with the anti microbe thingy - and no way is any of that going on my pretty hair or face ! Tomorrow I pack. Yes, I have adopted the 'forget the date' attitude which will see me scuttling round in a whirl tomorrow gathering bits and bobs. I've got my ipod plugged in charging and the playlist is eclectic - from zen meditation to Jimmy Barnes belting out some loud stuff, and some Kevin Bloody Wilson and 12th Man thrown in for a chuckle. I've been on this forum for 3 months, I feel like I've gone through it with you all. Thanks for preparing me so efficiently and answering so many questions I didn't even know I had. Special thanks to you Hayley, may all your baby wishes come true (and any super-size wishes you may have as well of course) Roll on New Year in a Bikini ! | |
