| yeah, mine are all over the place. I was just starting to settle down and then they went haywire again. It's doing my head in cause normally when i get my period I take extra drugs cause i have seizures then. I used to go by dates, now I have no freakin idea when to take them so end up having more seizures. It suckx. I got a mirena coil as well and it makes no difference.
I am now 9.5 months post surgery and today hit the 50% of excess weight lost so am pretty happy except the periods and I think that will continue to be haywirish for a while longer yet. |

| Yep, us girlies have it tough. I was really regular before this op then the last few months have been weird. I keep getting "PMT"symptoms more than once a month? This could just be the chocolate withdrawal though... | |

| My cycle is all over the place.
I have gone from not having my period at all for about 3 1/2 years......this is because I have an Implanon implant and it stopped my periods to help control my endometriosis. Pure Heaven!!!
Then I got a period 3 days post op, I thought yep ok body been through major surgery, just a reaction to that. Then I got another one about 3 weeks later which meant I had to cancel my doctor appointment for a pap smear cause I hadn't done that in forever. Rescheduled it for 2 weeks later (tomorrow) and now I've started AGAIN.
3 periods in 8 weeks.....WTF!!!!
Just wondering if it's got more to do with the rapid weight loss???
One thing I do know........it's bloody annoying!!!

| I think my body goes' hmm, hospital? I know that gross disinfectant smell, we must be having a baby, therefore I'm going to produce copious amounts of blood, just because!'.
I told the nurse I thought there was blood in my urine and something terrible had happened, she said 'or you have your period?'. I couldn't believe it. Canulas hanging out, a drain and then a stupid period! Menstruation is definitely a pain Kylie! |

| Some days I really wish we women laid eggs each month and then decided whether to eat them for brekky or hatch the buggers. Seriously.........menstruation is just a pain. | |

| Hi there, I have been irregular post op too.
And I really seem to notice the PMT symptoms more with craving etc. Perhaps because the "change" is more noticeable, where as pre op I ate all the time so I didn't notice :[img]http://sm

| Since the surgery, I get my period like clock work. The only problem I have is that during the last 2 days of my cycle, I am starving all of the time. I don't know why because I am not hungry the rest of the month but for those 2 days, I feel like I can eat all of the time and never get full. Does anyone else feel this way? | |

| Phew! Thanks guys. I was starting to get a bit worried! Have to say, though, ... this kinda sucks. I'll probably have to go and see my GP or someone, though, because I have to be careful about what drugs and herbs I take due to the amount of antidepressants that I'm on (PND's a bummer).
Thanks for sharing, Tickled and Bushgirl.

| My periods were all over the place since I started doing opti pre-surgery. I tried several different pills and none of them were able to control my hormones enough to stop me getting break through bleeding. The good news is that now at 7 months post op, I just had my first cycle off the pill and it came on time with no break through bleeding during my cycle.
I was told by both my physician and gp that due to the rapid weightloss caused by surgery it can throw everything out, and that it should settle down on it's own.
I hope yours settles down soon.
xx Tamara

| I had one period a day or two post op, another one two weeks later, one about 5 weeks after that and nothing since... now about 13 and a half weeks post op... totally screwed, but I also stopped taking the pill post op, and Ive heard weightloss can make things a bit heywire until you reach goal and settle a bit... sort of like the feeling the cold thing- your body just has to get used to it. Have you tried any herbal remedies? In the general section under TTOTM there were a few suggestions | |

| Hi guys
It's been ages since I've posted anything because, frankly, everything's been going so well. I'm really, really happy with the result.
One question though. Has anyone else had MAJOR changes to their menstrual cycle since the surgery? After having kids everything in that regard seemed to change (go figure ...) but I can't figure out why this is happening now? I've gone from almost problem free to serious mood swings, pain, bloating etc. I have to say that it's really starting to get me down.
I was just wondering if anyone else has had any experiences like this?
Thanks. | |
