Dr Copp? Empty

My opinion always has been to feel comfortable with your surgeon.
I know there can be a price difference between them, but I wanted to feel comfortable with the person who was about to perform major surgery on me! hehe

Thats my oipinion, I'm sure there's lots of others who wouldn't worry about that part.

So, for a couple of 100 bucks, I would go see another surgeon on your list, just to make an more informed choice.

Re the sleeve v banding.
I agree with you, I think and Im not a Doc, there looks like lots more long term issues with the band.  At this stage there less issues with the sleeve.
Although, the sleeve surgery is a lot more major than banding.

I don't regret it at all, should of done it sooner.

Good luck with your research and choice!

Hi everyone,

Needing some advice.

I initially had a consultation with Dr John Copp and whilst I initially wanted a sleeve he convinced me to opt for banding instead for a 2 reasons. 1. I don't have to travel to Brisbane from Mackay and 2. He didn't believe my weight warranted the procedure (bmi is 39, 152cm @ 90kg). He was nice in his approach and the initial consultation wasn't bad but my husband insisted I do a bit more research as he is adamant that banding does more harm than good (which were my initial thoughts also based on research).

I called Dr Copp's office today to advise them that I want to change my procedure and to be honest they didn't seem all that helpful or interested. I know most of the feedback on here and other sites regarding Dr Copp is all in relation to his ability around banding but I can't find anything about him regarding sleeving. I don't know if I am just being sensitive but I am not feeling very supported at this point in time and am wondering if it would be worthwhile looking at using another surgeon? (Dr Greenslade keeps popping up as an option). Would love to hear your thoughts. I know now though either way I will have to travel to Brisbane for it but given that it's irreversible I don't want to regret my choice in surgeon
