| Thanks everyone for your feedback, I really do value it I am so pleased that I can continue with what I am doing. In relation to exercise after the big op, I have found myself saying things to my personal trainer like "I am going to smash this when I am 20kg lighter, so imagine what I will be able to do after getting rid of ALL my excess weight!" It is really exciting to think that I will be able to do more with less pain.... Having more energy will be awesome, so tired of feeling so tired! | |

| Don't you just love it when people try to give you a bit of negative input, when, really, they have nothing with which to substantiate their opinion ?? No, me neither ! Totally agree with BOJ and denzel - my first thought was "what rubbish!!" before I read their responses. She is probably just jealous that you will be improving your health, well being AND physical fitness ! I have always done a lot of exercise ( usually 5 x a week) whether I've been fat, slim, or in between. I'm 5 months post sleeve, started exercising just as hard as before from about 4 weeks post op (obviously started off a little slower and wasn't silly about it!) and have been back going harder than before for quite a while now - only it's easier without that excess weight dragging me down !! I credit the long term exercise with my lack of loose skin, and at 46, having had 4 c-sections , and losing 27 kg in the last 5 months, I could have expected to have a bit of that. So, I would say keep up the great work - absolutely get yourself as fit as possible before your surgery, and you will find it that bit easier to get back into it post op ! Ignore the negativity - well done you for committing to be the best you can be !!! | |

| Nope! Not a silly question! Your colleague is just someone, who through no fault their own, is ignorant. it's up to you to enlighten them! I had MASSIVE resistance to me getting the sleeve done by three people who I had thought would have been very supportive. I had to keep emailing 2/3 who had email and the internet information. Look at @Mr Mick and other inspirational people! She has achieved amazing results, and is incredibly inspirational. All the best! | |

| Thanks BOJ!
Like I said, I just know it is a silly question but so much second guessing at the moment.
Think that I was just so thrown off by the comments and I am going to stuggle with all of the change to myself as it is.
Thanks agqain! | |

| Also - post op, sure - you are going to need recovery time. But, you are going to be on a VLCD for some months post - and of course you can exercise as soon as your surgeon is happy for you to do so. | |

| What rot.
I upped my exercise and was doing plenty in the lead up to the op, including the very strict pre op diet. I was fine. I did feel hungry, but just filled up on veggies. And kept going.
I don't recall my energy levels dropping significantly - but then my energy levels wax and wane now - some days I feel invincible and a workout is easy....some days....not so much.
That said, prior to the pre-op strict diet, I'd been doing 2 shakes and a small healthy meal a day - so maybe I got a bit used to it.
We are all different, but I think the concept that you "can't" is rubbish. | |

| Hi everyone,
I got my date last week (June 20th) and am expecting 6 weeks of Opi-fast....
Anyway I have been attending personal training at least twice per week for the past 2 years. I was having a casual chat with a colleague today and mentioned that I was going to an extra session each week until surgery so that I am fit and healthy as I can be. She sent me back to Earth in a hurry when she pointed out that I wont be able to do this exercise, or be allowed when on such a low calorie diet. Makes sense, but I still have to ask - is it true? Hoping one of you wonderful people can confirm or dispell this unwanted information....... Can't believe I am upset about it! Obviously I am in a bad way or I wouldn't be getting surgery so how did I even get to the gym let alone like it.......
Cheers, | |
