| Thank you, Lisa 66
It makes sense.
Anyway, I have not had any adverse reactions at all! | |

| I agree with BOJ and Greenfrog - I didn't cook banana and I was having strawberries pureed in smoothies while I was in hospital! If you think about it fruit juice is just 'pureed fruit' in a lot of cases and that's allowed. | |

| Great to hear!
I feel like I am starting to get OCD with this diet stuff, LOL !
Yes, this is why I thought that Soft fruit like bananas and paw paw, were OK to puree and eat uncooked ......
I am in the 6 weeks brigade, change every 2 weeks .... Ready for Soft Food now, as I am getting really hungry!
I will ask my dietician for the rationale on bananas and paw paw. They are both soft fruit, and no strings in them.
My Nutri Bullet is getting a massive work-out now, LOL
Thank you for replies!
I feel better now :) | |

| Yeah, I second what BoJ said. I was allowed to have anything pureed. It didn't need to be cooked. Just mashed to buggery (if you pardon the term). | |

| LOL, don't freak out. Some surgeons and dieticians have a lot more restriction and rules than others. For example, at 10 days my surgeon put me on soft foods. Others take 6 weeks to allow that! Beats me as to what they think cooking is going to do to a banana or paw paw! Apple - I get. Banana and paw paw -not so much. | |

| OMG,
Only noticed this yesterday. I have been happily pureeing bananas, and pawpaw, Without Cooking the fruit!
I cooked soft pears, but not the bananas or paw paw
Yes, I have clear instructions, yet somehow my brain did not register this until recently.
Uncooked, pureed fruit ..... ouch!
Selective memory I guess.
So far I have not had any adverse reactions to the uncooked pureed fruit. Made sure yesterday that I cooked my fruit first.
Seeing my dietician next week, and I will tell her my mistake.
Did anyone else make this mistake????
Now, I read, and re-read my instructions few times a day ..... Lesson learnt.
PS. Veggies and minced protein foods (turkey, chicken and salmon pieces) I knew and remembered to cook them first. Just the fruit (soft fruit) I managed to forget to cook .... |
