The thing is, you can eat all that bad food after the op, just not in the volumes you can now, so its not so much a food funeral as a 'seeya in a couple months' catchup.

For example I ate a big mac on the weekend, minus the top and bottom bun and the pickles, and still didnt finish it all. No fries, no nuggets, no soft drink, just the insides of a big mac. Tasted awesome at the time, tummy didnt think much of it afterward though lol. Im not saying you should do this regularly (and I dont), but once in a while, its ok to give in to a whim. All those 'normal' people do it after all ;)

If you can be at peace now, knowing you can still taste and enjoy those bad foods after, then you can perhaps avoid stacking on extra weight prior to the preop diet, and can possible save yourself the devastation of the surgeon closing you up without doing anything because your liver hasnt shrunk enough to operate safely.

Stay strong! Good luck :)

Does anyone have any tips on how to avoid 'food funerals'?

I can see that it is going to be very easy to put on weight prior to the prep diet in an attempt to enjoy all the 'bad food' that you will not be able to eat after.

Thoughts? Ideas?
