It varies hugely between surgeons. Some people have 6 weeks, some 4, 2 or none at all. If you've seen your surgeon and he/she's scheduled you in for the surgery, then he/she must be ok with you meeting with the dietician then. Call your surgeon's rooms if you're worried.

I'm starting to get a little worried, I'm seeing people doing optifast for 4 weeks when BMI is over 40. I haven't even seen the dietician yet and my surgery is on the 23rd. I have been cutting back and have lost 4kg since seeing the surgeon 3 weeks ago but don't see the dietician until 10 days before surgery !!
