| Shell70, just thought I'd clarify, my suggestion for protein powder in your water was only to get you through until you see the specialist on Wed not for long term nutrition intake , I'm sure he will come up with some better suggestions and/or a more permanent method of feeding until you can have your surgery in 3/4 months to help fix this anomaly in your tummy... | I agree with ShrinkingViolet, if you have a 3 to 4 month wait for more surgery, you cannot be living on cup-a-soups and protein powder. I would be asking for more support from your surgeon and/or GP and not trying to handle this on your own. Also, if you continue with the vomiting when the surgeon warned against it (and I know you can't control it) you may cause some inflammation or other damage that interferes with your upcoming surgery.
It sounds sooooo difficult and I really feel for you, and any nagging is just because we are worried by the way --> Please seek further assistance from your medical professionals! It's just not worth taking further risks.
Best wishes, | |

| There is a natures own natural protein powder (green and white container) you can get from Woolworths in their health section... perhaps you could add a scoop of that to your water, I would think it would be consistency of a cup-a-soup or maybe even thinner.. | |

| I hate to say it but your diet is not sustainable. If you require further surgery in 3-4 months time and you can't have anything other than thin fluid for that time you will require other forms of feeding.
I was and still am suffering from malnutrition due to an inability to eat properly post sleeve complication. I now have a J tube but my blood protein levels are still below normal despite being on enteral feeding for the last two months.
The sooner your surgeon addresses your nutrition requirements the less likely you are to become severely malnourished. You need to raise the issue with him and be quite firm. The longer you leave it the more likely you are to suffer something called "re feeding syndrome".
The surgeon may be hesitant to offer a different method of enteral feeding as it would officially show as a second surgery due to a complication from his surgery but that's his problem.
Remember......you are your own best advocate. | |

| as some of you may know I have suffered from an extremely rare complication so rare that there is no information on it. At the moment I can only have liquid with a hint of mush but every time I have something thicker then water it makes me violently vomit I cannot get protei down at all and I am now resorting to cup a soups and lemon water and tea anything else comes straight back up , I see the specialist again on Wednesday but I am worried that I am not getting any protein , the last thing my doc said to me when I left was make sure you don't vomit and I have done nothing but I am so tired and exhausted its not funny has anyone got any suggestions as I am starting to get ite depressed , I will need another op in 3/4 months time but I am not sure if I can sustain this diet Advice please if anyone has any cheers | |
