| I have Bupa Corporate Classic and was covered.
You need to ring Bupa and tell them your coverage and ask if it covers Medicare Item No. 31575 (Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy).

| They changed their cover for weight loss surgery covered by corporate cover in July 2014. If you changed when they let you know, then you didn't have to serve the new waiting period but if not then you will have to re-wait the 12 months. I know, because I was almost caught out. | |

| I had someone from Bupa ring to 'entice' me back.... even said that Medibank wouldn't have a no waiting period for us after being with Bupa. When I said that I had checked it twice with two different people at Medibank and even given them the medicare number, the woman still wouldn't have it. I just thanked her and said I was happy with my change, and goodbye. | |

| Hi guys, I have pupa top hospital cover and I was just reading in here about the medibank cover. I still have 10 months to go until I am able to go ahead with my VSG due to the waiting period with Bupa. Am I in the right cover?(When I first signed up they said it covered VSG) Has anyone else used Bupa before? Am I better off trying to swap to medibank? Thanks for your help - this private health care stuff is confusing! | |
