Thanks for all that guys yes Garfield I would agree with you on Thailand above Bali although if you do decide to go for just a holiday in Indonesia again Lombok is nice just like Bali in the 70s and 80s pre overdevelopment.

I was just saying to my husband the other day I wouldn't mind going over there again (Thailand) but I was thinking to North haven't been there but with Marshall law just being announced may leave it a bit longer.  I will take a look at that site if we do go and my daughter comes she will have to get a fulltime permanent job first she is still on uncertain contracts so it makes it hard to plan expensive holidays and although its cheap there it still isn't that cheap.  If I have to fork out for her I may as well have it here.

I did, four veneers, teeth whitening, a mouth guard (as I grind my teeth at night) and cleaning.  They did a heaps better job then what I got done here (paying around $15k) ensuring the teeth matched not just in colour but in style to exactly what I wanted.  Any further dental work, I will definately head back there as they listened and did what you wanted, not what they thought you should have.  One thing is they cared more about ensuring you were comfortable and not in any pain.  They would happily take their time for the pain numbness to wear in or add more.  You are not shoved out the door for the next patient and if you are not completely happy with something, they apologise for misunderstanding and rectify it immediately - without extra cost!

Over there dental is very cheap and affordable, but they don't compromise on health, safety, quality, customer service.  The Thai's are the most gentle people I've ever met - even the street stalls is never no pressure.

Accommodation over there is also very clean and they all take pride of their appearances from the way they dress, to meals served and how well maintained everything is.  I've been to Bali and Bangkok, and I would return to Bangkok over Bali anyday.  I felt safe walking around at night, catching the buses totally alone.  Just take care on hiding your money and don't wear valuables.  They have some amazing costume jewellery anyway - quality items you could wear to a ball and you are paying very minimal.

This is who I used:

My next trip will be to get a tattoo to cover up my stomach scarring.  They can knock you out whilst you get it done.  I will find the name of the company I used last time as you have a nurse escorting you most of the time and keeping watch so you feel completely safe :-)

And their train system is extremely cheap and easy to figure out.

When we were in Bali we met a couple that decided to combine a holiday and get some dental. They recommended Bali 911. There are a couple of surgeries but they had used and swear by the one in Denpasar they had been quite a few times. I saw some of the work they had done and it looked  good and, easy half the price of here. Unfortunately I ran out of time myself to go

Hiya Blue,

I've done a bit of research in to this too as my teeth are falling apart (bridges, crowns, millions of fillings etc etc).

In the end what I looked at was not viable for me at this time.

Bummer eh or maybe I'd join you guys!
(OOOOH mind you if you mention that you might get Botox, Fillers and some Liposuction plus the Dental work while you are there then I AM DEFINITELY INVITING MYSELF  !!!!!!)

Oh, oh, oh I just remembered about "flapping" things and I want that done too .. get them to quote for all the above and I'm in !
Ha ha ha sorry did not intend to hijack your trip and then invite myself on it ! I was intending on being helpful.

Hopefully someone who has had work done there can help you.

But if not I can send you all the links I have saved for various establishments.

As I said I have done loads of research and HEAPS of places did not cut the mustard but some that I saved "seemed" like they might be okay.

You could also look in to the Philippines and Bali.

Cheers,
Tara

PS - SORRY I wrote this response with the aim of being helpful I didn't mean to turn it into a list of things I want !

I can't remember who it was that said they had been to Thailand for dental work my daughter has found out she needs some fairly expensive stuff done and she is not covered for major dental on her health cover.  So she was thinking of doing some in Thailand or Vietnam.  I also need a couple of crowns myself that last one cost a pretty penny so if she went maybe we could go as a family and do it.

Any body had it themselves or know of people who had it and was happy with work felt it was just as hygienic as here and of course way cheaper as you do need to add the flights and holiday cost to all of the work done.
