| Hi,
Has anyone out there used Teachers Health Fund? and if so how have you found them, heplful! Crossing my fingers that I'm covered, have had cover for over 3 years. I can't get a straight answer from until I have all the details from my surgeon.

| Hi Thanks again guys, I'm hoping to go in during school holidays with an extra week. Don't think I'll make these holidays maybe the next. Although I'm a little scared that if something goes wrong I'll have been a bit selfish with a son doing HSC. I'm not a teacher but have 6 teachers and 700 kids expecting me to be there, they don't usually find a replacement for a week but any more than that and it's not so easy. It's bad that I'm feeling a bit guilty and nothings happened yet. | |

| I've had Top Hospital and Top Extras with Teachers Health for just over a year, I got in a month before I turned 30 and have been paying $87.80 each fortnight which has just gone up to $93.70 a fortnight.
You can have a look to see if they have an agreement with the hospital you are thinking of getting surgery at Resources - Find a Provider. With the Top Hospital they will cover you if the surgery has a medicare number, my surgeon gave me the medicare numbers: 31575 and 30390 to check with Teachers Health which they said that yes they do cover with Top Hospital.
I've requested a private room at St John of God Hospital in Geelong which I hope I will get!
I communicate via email with teachers health, just so I've got things in writing.

| I have this and my policy was 12 months in end of December. I emailed them with the item number so that I knew in writing how much I was covered for. I paid for a package up front of $5k for everything, including the psychologist, dietitian and surgeon visits for 12 months. I knew that the psychologist and dietitian would come in handy so was glad there was a package available. I looked at my bill BEFORE my PHI was taken out and it was $12800, as I did have a few extra little probs in the private hospital after.
I was supposed to have a private room but had to share with a 96 year old lady. The day before surgery this would have bugged me, but during the stay I hardly noticed.
The GAP for my anaesthetist was $600 too.
