I had my band removed last March and a sleeve done inJune, pain was part of the reason I had it removed, I have since lost 25 Kgs and have found the sleeve much easier to live with than the band, it comes of a bit slower when you have had a band but it dose come off. Good luck with revisiting your surgeon.

I am coming up to 5 years with a band any my total weight loss has been 10kg despite eating well, and doing all the right things. I have not had a fill for 3 years due to work and circumstances. I now cannot lie on my left side in bed without discomfort and I get ecruciating pain in my left shoulder that I thought at first it was a heart issue.

12 months ago I went to see Dr Chisolm to discuss a bypas and he just referred my back to my original surgeon Dr Bessell. Due to distance and our governments idiotic Pats system Travel to Adelaide is difficult and expensive via air. I wish I had been offered a bypass to begin with.  Has anyone had a band removed due to the pain?
