| I am just wondering how Rocky's appointment went on the 16th? Did you get a date? Thought we might end up in hospital at the same time as we have the same surgeon. Nik | |

| Hi there, I’m new to this blog as recently posted one but decided to do a better one explaining why I’m planning to get a gastric sleeve done.
Ever since childhood to now, I have always been the person that worries, feel ashamed of myself of seeing photos taken of me, feel uncomfortable wearing clothes that shows muffin tops and other stuff that gross me out and wearing clothes to look slimmer that shows everything to try look better but turn out the worst to try look healthy and positive about my weights. I’m 169cm height and feel short and have wider body, big thighs/legs and double chins.
I have always been disappointed about myself and when hearing negative thoughts from my parents saying that you look awful and clothes look tight and felt down all the time but they do it out of love and care for me as often I thank them for their support and accepting me the way I am as growing old, you understood why they say these things and feel blessed to have them in your life.
I am a person that is not a big eater and don’t often take much alcohol but love to snack on sweets and chips that could end up eating more then meals. I have try number of occasions of weight loss programs to try to lose weight as during my adolescent, I had successfully lost 20 to 25 kgs with Jenny Craig and was so happy and healthy.
By the time I turn 18, started regaining weight all the way back on and been on and off with Jenny Craig for nearly 14 years, but kept the same weight but cannot lose any as been the same for the past five years as couldn't find any solutions to try lose weight as given up and stay the same weight and BMI of 35 to 37 and spending ton of money on gym programs, weight loss program and products as felted like I have wasted lot of money.
With my relationship past, I had few unsuccessful relationships that have affected me with dating and have low self esteem, shy and the way I was, I thought I would never be with anyone until found the right person 17 months ago which I found the love of my life as we are yet to be marry in August 2014. My fiancé had gastric sleeve done in the past and it was inspirational by her weight loss journey of how she have lost up to 50 kgs and have confidence in the relationship and being so supportive, wonderful, thoughtful and being a beautiful warm heart loving person that anyone could never ask for. She have made me the happiest person and knowing that long term, things will turn out awesome, but am was too worry because of my family history of being overweight, diabetes and cancer, I didn't want to grow old and have health problems as want to have the lots of energy to be able to be there for my future wife and father to be one day and want to do activities or anything else to make them happy and not worrying about my health in long term weight problems.
Now…it been the past year…I have done lots of researches and googled on the websites about gastric sleeve vs. gastric banding and know what I am signing up for to have gastric sleeve and did the first step to organise appointment as got one on the 16th December with Dr Chau at Miranda to see If I can get gastric sleeve and looking forward to a positive future and staying healthy and happily married.

| Hi Rocky and welcome to this site. You'll find a wealth of information on here.
I can't answer your question about the doctor but if you pop into the Surgeons topic you might find some info there. Otherwise, I'm sure someone will be able to tell you their experiences.
Congratulations for starting to work on the new you! |

| Hi All, I'm new to this gastric sleeve blog as got appointment on the 16/12/2013 with Dr Chau at Miranda, is he recommended and trustworthy to try with?
As planning to get gastric sleeve done next year as been researching online for a while for the past year as when I first met my girlfriend 17 months ago, she had it done and lost up to 60 kgs and was amazed at her weight loss journey and very much happy and getting marry in August 2014.
I have been overweight since being little to now long term as been the same BMI 36-37 for long time as been unsuccessful with weight loss programs like jenny Craig, lite n easy and other stuff as being the same weight for nearly 15 year as decided to give gastric sleeve a change for good.
Hope the appointment goes well.
Thanks rocky1281 |
