| Congrats
The first thing to do is arrange the super some people have had difficulty with that. The second is to start the weening so the baby is settled into bottle routine for the carer. The opti is available at most chemists but try to find one of the variety packs to try first if possible because some flavours are better then others my preference was strawberry and banana. You can look it up on the internet for some of the bigger chains.
Nini and you can freeze up some small portions but what I will warn you of is I also froze quite a lot of puree and became bored of it very very quickly. I have seen others say the same when you think about it and I didn't, it means you have a lot of the same tasting things and I have said now I know why babies pull faces when they eat the food tastes very ordinary pureed.
When I finally reached the decision I couldn't stand it any more I went to woolies and got eight different flavour fresh soups they come in 300ml container and can be pureed and used for 2 or more serves. Either both lunch and dinner or puree 2 and swap 1 flavour each meal over 2 days it has been a real relief for me.
For the hosp itself you really don't need much just a couple of Pjs, toiletries, some diet cordial in a flavour you enjoy to help the water go down easier and make sure you wear something loose when you go in because when you come out the tummy is swollen and sore. Before my month went in we had big lists but the first day you are in hosp gown and then you can change when you get up to room and you can move around I didn't change until the following morning and got out the day after that so only wore one pair I took three. The hosp gives you the food you are allowed and drugs and most hosp don't allow heat packs. If you do take medication they will want you to take that.
I think that's most of what you need good luck to both of you. | |

| Hi Kelan12,
Congratulations on getting your date! I am also getting done in July and sometimes it seems like forever away and then all of a sudden it seems to be coming sooo quickly. I don't have young children (mine are bratty teenagers) but I think the easiest thing would to get a lot of meals cooked before surgery and freeze them. It will just take the pressure off, one less thing to have to think about. You can separately freeze small portions for yourself in ice cube trays or very small containers for the puree stage. Do you have a stick blender they are very handy for the puree stage. I have dusted off my slow cooker as this makes the meat very tender for the later stages. Today I think I will make a double batch of mince hedgehogs in the slow cooker - mmmm.
If you like you can come over and introduce yourself to the Sleevers Monthly July group, we call ourselves the Juliettes. We can all be nervous together LOL
