| i a really hoping for keyhole, but i suppose i will have to wait and see. The main thing i remember about my band surgery was waking up with this humungus bandaid looking thing down my belly, then needing the toilet and 2 nurses having to pull me out of bed. it was agony. And the tubes omg. I kept telling them i didn't need the loo anymore lol. we will have to see what happens :)

| as for all band removals Eels... it will depend entirely on the damage the band has done to your stomach in the time it has been there.
We are all warned that it could be open surgery and not the key hole that is a given for a virgin sleeve.
Your doc will not willingly put you at risk.
I will say to you that you need a medal for having that bastard in for that long.. 4 years was long enough for me. | |

| My band is 27 years old now and back then, they cut you from your bellybutton to breastbone. I am getting mine out in July and a hoping for keyhole. I see the surgeon on 23rd of this month, so fingers crossed. | |

| I would say it would be possible via keyhole, though that does depend on why she needed it done as a laparotomy in the past. There is always the chance, like with all of us that the surgeon could start her surgery as keyhole but then need to do an open procedure for whatever reason, but i don't think that happens too often. | |
