| Yeah I think its a long time too. I said "are you sure". He wants my stomach to heal and this way it heals better. I'm going to go nuts if its 2 weeks. Ill do 1 week and then have my post op appointment and he will reassess. | |

| Within two hours of having my lapband removed i ate a sandwich and had a drink in day surgery recovery. !-2 weeks of liquids seems a a long time to me. | |

| I too enjoyed a much overdue burger! I recall my jaw getting really sore from the chewing too, lol
Another food I demolished was pineapple....mmmm pineapple! It didn't take me long to have bigger mouthfulls either, not stuffing my face but a good bite of something, it was the best! lol
Good luck Tash, enjoy your break from the band, the lust after non-band foods will soon pass, I was all about burgers straight after then I became obsessed with steak and salad. You'll eat with a smile on your face no matter what your food of choice xxx | |

| I remember when i had my first hamburger after i had my band out my chewing was really unco ordinated and i dropped my burger all over the place! I then realised that i had been so used to eating soft slider type foods that i hadn't actually 'chewed' much food in a couple of years...that's why i was making such a mess, chewing felt quite akward. It wore off fast though. LOL

| Hi tashoz,
I had my band removed 19th march, and I too had the burger the next day....funny how we all missed that with the band...... But!! for about 5 days after removal, food was getting stuck!!!! I know right???? Phoned the rooms all worried, that my dr had been unable to remove my band and someone had forgotten to tell me lol. I had had my band for years and of course, my stomach, even without the band inplace, was still puckered into that restricted shape. Like if you were to wear a tight elastic band around your wrist for ages, when removed, it will take a while for that indent to fill out again.
Don't be surprised if you have an initial 'stuck' feeling. I am fine now, as I said it probably lasted for about 5 days after removal... and am loving my hamburgers...not to many though!!!!
All the best,
Melissa | |
