| Hey wombat I was told by my surgeon I could start riding again after two weeks. I left it for 4 weeks before I got on and had absolutely no problems at all. The only reason I didn't ride after two weeks is that my horse (all 17 hands of him) is only a baby and can be a bit unpredictable at times and I was worried in case he did something silly and I would come off and perhaps pop my staples. The quack said it wouldnt happen but I wanted to be sure.
I am now riding full on and I have to tell you that the weight loss certainly improves the riding position and the horse is a lot happier too. | |

| I think it is likely to be 6 weeks or so for me sadly, as I am not riding much at the moment, so don't have much good 'riding' muscle development. But that's ok, I would be devastated if it was 6 months or something! | |

| Nemo coped with the surgery extremely well and I would say that her recovery time was very atypical. Her surgeon told her she could ride again within something like 10-14 days after surgery. I would not recommend doing that without the express consent of your surgeon. | |

| Debs right Wombat however ... also have a chat or PM Nemo.....she was up & riding very quickly after her op.. but we are all different and therefore recover at different rates The recovery is supposed to be similar to that of a cesarean.......so they say...so no heavy lifting etc and most gyms wont let you excercise until 4 weeks........but nothing is set in concrete ! hugs | |

| Something to ask your surgeon as everybody recovers at a different rate. | |
