| Hi Lauren, Welcome aboard. You have come to the right place. Been there, done that. Just had my band removed at the end of January and was glad to say goodbye to it. I am having the sleeve in early May hopefully. I have to wait 3 months for things to settle down. Good luck with your op and please keep us updated. Cheers, Janey | |

| Hi Lauren, welcome to the forum. Good luck with your operation to remove the band on Monday. I am sure you will not regret your decision to have the sleeve and will be able to enjoy a much wider variety of foods. | |

| I'm new here,my first post ever and i'm having my band removed this monday coming, yes 3 sleeps till i am BAND FREE,i am not a band hater, just hate the one i got and hate my experiences with it. A lot of people can tolerate the thing and do fabulous and lose lots and lots of weight. I'm having my band removed basically because i am sick of being sick! :) i can't eat vegies or meats, fish or chicken...it all comes back up but before it comes back up i am in EXTREME pain!!!!!!! I got the band because i believed i was able to eat pretty much everything but in smaller portions,ah NO!!! i hav had probelms eating soup at times lol. But enough about the band,i'll be free of it monday and i will be having the sleeve gastrectomy a few months afterwards so i'm told. anyhow that is my story and thought i would post here and say hi!!! :) cya Lauren. | |

| Sorry Bella, She's not a cat. She's a dog in cat's clothing. But she is pretty gorgeous I'll give you that. No matter what outer covering and what species as long as they love us and make us happy they are the "Perfect Pet". I still love ya, Janey | |

She's been camping In the car she hangs her head out the window and takes in the breeze She knows when im sad and gives good cuddles to hear her purr is so heartwarming

| Having a band on a sleeve is definatly possible, because my surgeon told me about it before I went through with the sleeve, although it wouldn't be an option for me as my body hates the band. But it has been done. | |

| Not entering into this one LOL. All I can say is I've had both and know which one I find a better companion...oh and my dog hasn't killed any native fauna that I know of. | |

| I love my cat too Bella but she's a grade A Bitch!!! She has an attitude problem probably because she was dumped as a kitten and just happened to end up on our doorstep. Lucky moggy. I'm a sucker for any animal. She's been given a home fit for a queen and all the love and attention in the world but she's still a bitch. But I love her her warts and all. She does seem to favour me for the occasional kiss but not a cuddle. Damn her and her wiley ways.

| Thanks for confirming I'm not loopy Deb. It's a relief. Can't think of anything worse than a sleeve with a band though. Having one on a normal sized stomach was enough of a nightmare. I would personally opt for the bypass myself and I wouldn't relish having one of those either. I've read that the mini bypass can cause you to smell rather strange in the toilet dept, don't know if this is true or not. As if normal smells aren't bad enough. Hehehheh. I do know however that the full bypass, they bypass the intestines altogether, does leave you with an unfortunate odour in the pooh department. Apparently they have to make a special air deodoriser in the US to combat this. Sounds way too nasty. Hopefully we'll never be unfortunate enough to require this. BTW always meaning to say love your dog and photo. It's gorgeous. You can see how much you mean to each other. Lovely. Dogs are the best. Janey | |

| You are right Janey. One of the US ladies was having a sleeve op with a band put in at the same time. The surgeon will put fill in the band about a year after surgery.
At my initial consultation the surgeon said a band or a bypass were future options after the sleeve if satisfactory weight loss had not been obtained.

| I might to imagining this but I think I read of someone on here, in the US I think, who had heard of someone or was having it done himself or herself. Please correct me if I'm wrong somebody. I think it is possible to put a band on the remaining stomach, after sleeving, if weight loss comes to a dead halt. Although I would imagine you would have to be really morbibly obese with a lot of weight to lose before this would become necessary. Don't take this as fact as I can be blonde sometimes. Hehehehe Janey | |

| I would think that would not be possible
most of your stomach has been removed, there is nothing left to band
