anyone had a gastric bypass after sleeve?

thanks for your reply, can you tell me when you eat or drink is it like the sleeve where it feels like bubbles are coming up, where you feel like your learning to eat again?
did your surgon tell you how much you eat now is what you will always be able to eat with the bypass?
i havnt gotton dumping with my sleeve is that soemthing thats very common with a bypass?
i found the first year to 14 months of my sleeve i didnt feel hungry or crave anythign now i feel hungry and feel like i crave something but dont know what as i dont like choclate and stuff anymore so it kind f drives me mad and tend to pick at things.

I had a bypass done 4 weeks ago tomorrow - my sleeve was not good even though I had lost 40 kgs my food choice and capacity was restricted - I liken it to a band that had gone wrong. After a lot of consideration I agreed to the bypass.

Unlike my sleeve op from which I had lots of issues (it's all im my diary if you want the read it) my bypass has been a dream run. The op was long 9 hours because of adhesions so be prepared that it may take longer because of youur previous sleeve op. I spent 2 nights in ICU again because the surgery was so long. By day 2 I was up on my feet, day three showered and day four independently showering and getting to the toilet. My incision is quite long - goes past my belly button but that may not happen to you however you should ask. Pain was no worse than the sleeve surgery, recovery has been pretty good although I have just moved house and have done too much so it is a quiet day on the lounge/bed today. I came home on liquids and started to progress to puree and had some problems - caused by the opening narrowing as it healed - it happens in about 25% of patients - so another 3 day admission and the opening was stretched via a balloon via my mouth. Yesterday I managed weetbix, cruskits with tuna and scrambled egg. I still use protein powder to keep my energy levels good and I take multivitamins and minerals and work closely with a dieititan. I will always have to take supplements because of malasorbsation issues but already I can see an improvement in what I can eat and drink and best of all the bypass reset my weight loss counter - not sure how much I have lost because I can't find the scales but it is more than 6 kgs since surgery.

The other issue to be aware of is dumping syndrome - for me not having high sugar or high fat foods is a good thing as these are the foods that lead to me being overweight in the first place. My goal when sleeved was to not eat to the point of vomitting and my goal with the bypass is to not give myself dumping syndrome.

I have not personally had to do this but I do know of two people who have progressed to this. I hope the situation improves for you. The process after a bypass is a little different, you have two weeks of liquids then go to mushies. I can not give you a techo difference between the two but I think the stomach is not used at all. Talk to your doc about it and also google it.

hi there i am wanting to hear from anyone who had to have a gastric bypass a year or more after having sleeve.
weight on day of op was 172 kgs and i now weigh 128kg i did get down to 124 a few months ago but have put on 4kgs over last 4 months so 1kg a month but haven't put on anymore since but cant seem to loose any
had a few emotional things happen since xmas last year like a ectopic pregnancy which ruptured and had to have op to remove tube, trouble with vitamin D levels being so badly low, a genetic condition where my iron is dangerously high, a operation 2 months ago to check my other tube to find i cant have anymore kids naturally which devastated me. so not sure if any if that made a difference.

i had a bariatiric test and my sleeve has stretched, not a scarey amount but still enough to eat/drink more than i was 12 months ago, its been 18 months since my sleeve.
saw my surgeon and he suggested a bypass, i asked could he just tighten my sleeve but he thinks if i am in table and through all that trouble i am better just to do bypass as sleeve may stretch again.
anyone been though this, i want to know what was the recovery like?
what was different about the bypass than the sleeve?
what was eating and drinking like with bypass?
