| Nah it's nothing to do with being afraid to put food in my stomach. I'm 7 weeks out and I'm pretty much able to eat anything, so I'm not afraid of eating at all.
Went to the Doc and they did a ECG. Took about 5 seconds for them to do it and he said it's all ok. He thinks my body is just under a lot of stress and if it persists they'll get me to do a 24hr monitoring. I've upped my calories to close to 1000/day and things have settled down. I think I just have to try and eat a bit more...easier said than done!!
Thanks for all the advice :o) Jodie | |

| Honestly it sounds like good old fashion fear at putting stuff in your new tummy, you notice it because you are concentrating on what is going in very carefully. I do tho agree that you should not mess around and go and have a talk with you GP rather than wait for your surgeon and get him to check it out and put your mind at rest.

| Hello,
Thanks for the replies. You guys were the wake up call I needed! I called the surgeon and the receptionist said to go to my GP as my surgeon is away at the moment. She said it is unlikely to be related to the sleeve op. I've booked an appointment this morning so hopefully it's all fine. I read an article about weightloss and heart palpitations and they say that a diet under 1000 cals per day can cause this. Mine's around 650 most days so maybe it's time to up the calories and see if that helps. Either way the problem still persists so I'm off to the GP and I'll let you know how it goes.
Thanks again everyone, Jodie
Forgot to add...no I'm not taking any medication other than Nexium. :o)

| I ditto CarrieK,
Remember that surgeons want to hear from you for anything out of the ordinary....that appointment you have is for if all is well.
Please dont ignore your body...its telling you something...and there are a whole range of easy fixed things that can cause palpitations..
Call him now

| Hi Jodie,
I don't think you should muck about. If you think it's heart fluttering, check it out. See your GP as soon as you can. Better safe than sorry.
Good luck and let us know how you get on.

| You haven't had any medication with pseudoephadrine in it, have you? That gives me palpitations | |

| I heard someone say the other day when they are a bit dehydrated they get palpitations? Would be worth popping in to see your Dr about. | |

| Hi all,
I'm a little worried about how I'm feeling the past few days. Generally I feel pretty good except that I keep getting this really weird heart fluttering feeling, especially when I eat. My next surgeon appointment is at the end of the month so I'm holding out to see him again. Has anyone experienced this?
Cheers, Jodie
