hi Allie
it's been good to read that you're geting a handle on the opti-vom stage. keep it up sista! you're getting so close!
about the liver...my surgeon explained it was the actual fat deposited around the outside of the liver itself that needs to be eradicated,
in order for him to operate safely. A heavy, slippery liver increases the risk of nicks for the surgeon and the patient.
not to scare the absolute crap out of you, but i was nearly denied
the op because my opti loss wasn't in the parameters of what my surgeon thought was acceptable. i was honest and told him about my 'cheats.'
i thought i was safe cos i had 2 small meals just before the
op of protein and salad. nup - he completely roasted my arse.
it was a bad bad bad 24 hours that i suffered thru before the op.
he told me he would open me up, but if my liver was still coated in fat, then he would close me straight up. it wasn't until i opened my eyes
post-op that i actually knew i had been sleeved.
i've tried to be a perfect GSV patient since then, seeing as how close i
came to stuffing the whole opportunity up.
we call it 'shrinking the liver' on here, but that's not entirely accurate. so overall external weightloss is the only indication
we have that internal fat is also being shifted. one of the more
medically inclined members may be able to explain it all in more detail.
so work the opti Allie. it's the last bastard diet you'll ever have to endure. the rewards are WICKED!!!!
