| I use nothing now that I am so far out, but used metamucil capsules for a few months in my first year. I had no probs with them, and it was OK'd by my bariatic nurse and dietician. I don't think I could have drank the powder that you mix with water!
Benefibre didn't work for me.

| I am a lot further out than you. Getting close to a year now. I have no problems with psyllium and have been using it for months now. Maybe start with a small amount as a trial? Don't forget to drink heaps of liquid with it. | |

| Can we have psyllium with the sleeve ( I am 4 weeks post op). It wasnt allowed with the band as it swells with liquid to form a thick to solid gel and could clog the stoma. Is this the case with the sleeve.
If its ok have you used it and to what degree of success. Are the capsuals better or is it best in the orange or unflavoured metamucil powdered type additive. I have tried benefibre and its useless on me. It just bloats me and makes me fart. All noise and no action!!
So if psyllium is out what have you used to the best benefit. At the moment I am 4 weeks out and am using ( as suggested by doc on a permenant basis) osmolax at a teaspoonful in my morning cuppa and is brilliant ( just adds water to stool so moves it through quicker and softer)...but I want to try to get it going with fibre if I can even if I have to sup both.
