| If nothing else the sleeve has really made me think about what I do stick into my mouth. I guess that can only be a good thing. | |

I was the same.. I felt like I was going to die of thirst at the start when I couldn't drink & eat at the same time. You get used to it though. Now it's just second nature for me... Every now & again I feel like a drink, so I may have a tiny sip of water, swirl it round in my mouth for a bit & swallow.. Doesn't hurt usually. But in saying that, I still can't drink a full cup of liquid during eating or for at least half an hour after.

| I think I can manage the 6 meals thing and the drinking. It just seems that is all I do all day. A learning curve indeed. | |

| I still cant drink and eat at the same time. I was told by my dietican (so I could get my fluids in) to only have 3 meals a day. This works for me. It took time and early out I was lucky to get 500mls in a day. Now 9 months out I get around 1.5L a day in. I carry a 600ml bottle of water with me everywhere and try to get through 3 a day. Some days I can manage it. Its more about me remembering than the space as I can get 3 mouthfulls in then half an hour later another 3 mothfulls. | |

| Thank you, that is something to look forward to. I am finding it a major brain rethinking as far as not drinking while eating. I would always have water with food. Hard habit to break, - LittleMissCee wrote:

| Does anyone know when it is safe to drink carbonated water again? I hate still water. No idea why. For me water must be chilled and carbonated. Soda water or mineral, makes no difference to me. This is a real problem when I travel. Last year I was hospitalised in Thailand because I didn't drink anywhere near enough water as I could get cold carbonated water and was very busy and just forgot to drink. Crazy! | |

| Like you I'd drink over 2.5 litres of water a day prior to surgery. It's been interesting needing to adapt .... I'm just over a week out of surgery and am up to about 1.2-1.5 litres of water a day already! Each day I can get more in. | |

| Some days I drink 2 liters or more. Some days I drink no water (like today - tho I did have 2 x 600ml light ice coffees, a can of pasito & am currently sipping a 250ml v8 juice).
Sometimes I'm just not thirsty & get busy & forget.

| About 5 cups of fluid per day only. That includes tea and coffee! I too make a choice between eating or drinking. I can't do both. | |

| You can only get in, what you can in the early stages.
I am over 2 years out and drink well over 3 litres of fluids per day, this includes tea and coffee

| I used to drink about 2L of water per day, now i find myself getting through only 600ml because i have to choose between eating or drinking. I am curious to know how much fluid everyone else gets through per day? | |
