I am new and was wondering if anyone has seen Dr Ben Woolven in Cairns

My hubby was sleeved in Jan this year by Woolven, it's been great for him :-) He's doing so well, I am very proud of him and he is so happy. Let me know if you'd like his contact number Raylan :-)

Sure evergreen, referred to Michelle Su-(something), I don't have her card with me. 6 weeks of opti is because guys apparently keep a lot of fat around the liver (with our big guts) and this makes it hard to access the stomach by the keyhole.

Good on you, Can i ask which dietician he referred you to, ? and why did he say you needed 6 weeks of opti ?.

Well, thanks to a cancellation I saw Dr Woolven today. You know deep inside I was hoping he'd say, what the hell are you doing here, you don't need this. Unfortunately, he didnt say that.

I am booked in for 3 May 2013. What a ride. I have to go on the Optifast for 6 weeks after seeing the dietician.

Anyway, I'm off to join the May sleevers and looking forward to starting the new life.

Great advice Sara, I have blood taken every 3 months for another issue so hopefully they can use those, but thanks for the heads up, very much appreciated.

I am in Sydney....but if you want to speed things up.....do what I did.....I got my GP to do a complete blood work and anything else the surgeon might need.......that why you will have everything in place for your first visit,....saved me heaps of time !! Sara xx

No date yet evergreen, first appointment with Dr Woolven mid April, from there I'm not sure how long it takes.

Have you started the opti yet?

Yes Evergreen has her op tomorrow with Dr Woolven and my op with him is next Friday. We'll keep you updated how everything goes.

Im so pleased to see you are so happy with the Dr, as he is doing mine TOMMORROW,Im so nervous tonight, done a huge spring clean in about three hours,i will let you know i "pull up" as soon as i can..

Also not from Cairns. Normal to be nervous, but the sleeve is fantastic. Best thing I have ever done, now happy and healthy over 2 years out.
