| This might sound stupid but I went though that need to chew something stage. I was missing red meat so I chewed a piece of my partners steak then spat it out. Gross I know but it really helped. Plus I got the nutrients :)

| Glad to hear all went to plan Zero4242. Sounds like you have found something you can have a chew on and not upset your new tummy. Woo hoo!! | |

| *Genie* I did what your friend did too (oh the shame!) I wish I had just come on here like Zero4242 and found out about cruskets. What is it about the act of chewing that makes us desperate....?! | |

| I had baby mum mums with cream cheese when I first moved on. They are cruskits for babys when they first start out they disolve so if you dont chew enough by accident it melts before it gets to your tummy. they are in the baby isle.
But if you can handle normal cruskets fine then stick with them. I think we all crave the chewing of food when on the liquids and puree stages

| I know exactly what you mean! I'm only just on puree now but am desperate to munch down on something. One of my friends had the op just over a year ago, she said she missed chewing so much she'd take a bite of something, get the taste and feel of it then spit it out lol. well, it worked for her, she got her fix lol.
And Happy Birthday for yesterday!

| Happy Birthday :-)
I hated the puree stage, and really missed chewing too, but in the scheme of things it doesn't last for long. Beware of more solid foods as it is a completely different feeling in your stomach. A crusket is a good choice though. Good luck!

| Avocado, vegemite, peanut butter, philly cheese anything soft like that. Just take it very slow and give your new tummy time to react, if it's going to, in between bites. Good luck with it in the morning. | |

| Thanks Kate, my very supportive wife, is reluctant to allow anything non standard.
I am sure we have cruskits in the house, I may try a small piece in the morning, as a test.
Obviously any topping would need to be equally digestible, eg vegimite?

| Happy Birthday Zero4242 and welcome to the forum. A lot of people seem to be able to tolerate cruskits at the puree stage as they pretty much melt in your mouth. Maybe give them a try, well chewed of course and slowly. Congratulations on a great weight loss. | |

| One week since I was operated on. It's my birthday and sat down with the family for a pureed dinner. One hour later I had a teaspoon of frosting off my birthday cake and was full. A bit strange for our guests but I have lost 18kgs since the new year when I started pre op diet, and am proud of, and pleased with my decision to go ahead.
My only misgiving is I did not know how much I would miss chewing food. Nothing to do with the type or quantity, more the texture. Is there anything ok too eat at this stage that has body to it, but digests quickly so as not to harm things?
