| we all learn from our mistakes, you may have experienced what is called a food bolous, its where the the stomach is either fully blocked or partially blocked, be careful you could do damage to your stomach, i had 3 of these episodes and it was when i ate new foods but really my tummy wasnt ready for them, try to make sure you go back to a liquid or soup over the next day or so so that your tummy recovers, advice from my dietican, it was a horrible experiece with alot of pain and vomiting white foam, happy to say its been months since this happened.....and i still cant eat hot chips so power to ya if you can lol | |

| Amazing that we all seem to do the food mistakes. Certainly been there but no throwing up.
I find I am able to eat pretty well anything within moderation thopugh some things feel better than others. Chips as discussed before feel aweful, fish is great and I can even handle other meats. For my birthday last week I had ribs. They were good ones so the meat just fell off the ribs and was easy easy to get down. A main meal size between the two of us was enough.
Guess it is all trial and error! Keep trying different things. My surgeon has said the more variety you try in the first six months the more you will tolerate in the long term.

| No, I can't, sorry, but if I remember I'll go have a look tomorrow and let you know. Birds eye. It's a thai coconut I think. You can see the packet pic here: http://birdseye.com.au/our-range/frozen-fish/quick-steam-fish/thai-coconut-curry-steam-fish-360g
There's some other flavours too, I just like this one best. lol.

| I've done it too.
In fact, I do it often now - when we're out and I'm not thinking, and I'm feeling a bit peckish so go a bit nuts and eat really fast. Not much, just really quickly.
I recently spewed down the side of DP's ute as he was driving as a result. Quite gross... just after I'd taken my hair out too, so went all through it as well... lol!
If you're wanting fish at 4 weeks out, maybe try a steamed piece (they tend to be softer) with lots of sauce. They have some steam fish packets in the freezer section if you're wanting to not bother doing it yourself. There's one with a thai sauce that's really really nice. Mush it all up in your mouth, with the sauce, and it should go down a lot easier than grilled fish will (at that stage).

| I'm seeing the surgeon and dietician shortly, so I'll see what they say. Ironically, since posting a few days ago, I've lost another kilo and a bit. Bet it won't stay off! | |

| I have the same problem as Aswan. 30 kg down, quite a bit to go, but every time a lose a kilo, it seems to reappear. very very frustrating. My surgeon isn't interested - as it has nothing to do with the surgery. | |

| That's the problem; the weight loss has more or less ground to a halt. I've tried cutting the calories, cutting the carbs, trying to up the exercise (I have RA), upping the calories, upping the carbs and just about everything, but I have only lost 1 flaming kilo in the past 5 weeks. I still have 30 kilos to lose. I am getting quite peed off. I was told that I would be a slow loser because of my age (59), but I didn't think it would be THIS slow. | |

| Wow thats really interesting! There have been a lot of foods that I nibble at that hurt me so I stop, I feel full REALLY easily (ie: just had a rasher of bacon without the tail and no fat and i'm really full or can only have x3 teaspoons of porridge and feel very full). Even sometimes milk makes my tummy gurgle!
If you are losing weight and feeling fantastic i wouldn't worry! We all heal and progress at different rates!

| Now I am worried...
I have never once felt or been sick. I can eat ANYTHING and have never, ever felt uncomfortable with it. Six months' check-up at the end of this month, so I have a few questions to ask my surgeon. Like; "Are you sure I have been sleeved?".

| Mamaraptor, it's early days yet, and you might find that certain foods randomly irritate your new little tummy. I still have to make a conscious to effort slow down, and to chew chew chew after so many years of wolfing down my food! The other thing to so is stop eating as soon as you start to feel a bit full. As the others have said, you'll probably need to moisten your food with sauces at this stage. | |

| Grilled fish chews down to nothing and with a little lemon is good and moist, your problem came from that chip, chips tend to sit way to heavy and lets be honest they are taking up valuable protein space in our tummys, next time skip the chip have fish and maybe a mouthful of veggies but remember chew.
hugs

| Food needs to be moist, add sauces, gravies, etc.
And agree chew chew chew, I still do and I am over 2 years out. Plus all that chewing will slow your eating down.

| Like everyone else said, chew.
Make sure you have plenty of sauce with your fish, and stay away from the chips at this stage.
It's just not worth it, ever, to be honest.

| YAY!!!!! Initiated!!!!!!!!! I feel like I'm a real part of the family now hehe!
It was coming...i knew it was going to happen. Today I have just needed to chew! I haven't had a lot of food (3 teaspoons of porridge, three cruskits with tuna, half a cup of soup and now some regurgitated fish!!) however I've been wolfing it all down really quickly! It's so easy to trick ourselves that because we are only eating little portions that we can wolf it down! Ohhhh no we can't!
I remember when I woke up from the surgery I asked my surgeon if he REALLY sleeved me. Let me tell you...i know for sure now he has!!!!
Oh worst but best! | |

| Oh my darling new sleever,
If Ive told you all once, Ive told you all 100 times. This is an episode Ive kindly dubbed "sleevers initiation". We all have done it once or twice. We will probably all experience it at one stage.... no matter how much we deny it will!
I believe you have now entered the sleevers partnership- lifetime membership. Welcome, my love.
On a serious note, maybe it was too try. Im 16 months out and still struggle with things that are too dry.
Hope you are ok, but yes its amazing how good you feel after a vomit :)
