Lol TinyTeddy, yeah for a second there i was thinking "I hope he has done more than two sleeves" lol :)

I had noticed that he seems to be more into bands, maybe only sleeving now for a few years? Not long now until my appointment and the lady at his office seems to think I will have no probs with my surgery date as I am booking a few months ahead...(My PHI year wait period ends on 03/08/2012)

If you don't mind me asking, what health fund are you with and how much was your out of pocket? I am with HBF Twin Saver, I was told there would be a $1000.00 administration fee, $600.00 for the anaesthetist and hospital excess which i think is $100.00.

I am so glad he is yet to have a leak, that scares me lol. I am also scared of little things, like the tube down my throat hurting when i wake up!! I have also heard that the gas pain is quite uncomfortable. Im sure it will be a small price to pay for the rewards down the track though.

I also read that it's best to quit smoking at least one month before and after surgery...something to do with blood clots and infection risk being higher. I am on day 2 of no cigarettes lol, may as well quit for good and use the money to put towards my out of pocket expenses and for a new wardrobe when the time comes!!

I have to stop counting the days because it seems to go so much slower....between the nerves and excitement i just can't wait!!

PS - forgot to say - he has never had a leak and has been doing the sleeve surgery for a while - I think I may have given the impression that he was new to it - not so - only that he seems to prefer banding but is doing more sleeves all the time. As angel said he stitches in addition to the staples so extra protection - not many surgeons do this aparently.

Hey nicole

Yep I definitely agree with Angel

I love the man!! When I first started looking into this I tried to find his name on this site but couldnt come up with anything. Never found this thread.

I think dolan is better known in Perth for the lapband which he is a big advocate for however I think even his way of thinking is coming more around to the sleeve. I got the feeling he is quite excited by Angels and my surgery and the success of it. I have spoken to a few other people on here that have still to have their ops by dolan and they seem quite happy so far too.

Yes he is dry, and certainly no time waster. He dosnt volunteer much information so go see him prepared with a big list of questions as he has no problem in answering them he just dosnt seem to give too much away unless he's asked. I found out more about my surgery after I had it than before LOL but then I new pretty much what to expect because of being on here.

I dont think you will be disappointed at all. Talking to the nurses at Glengarry hospital where I was done (he dosnt normally do sleeves there) they all loved him too. I would go with him again in an instant.

Good luck with everything - will look forward to hearing how you went :)

That's great to hear, thanks!
I'm so glad I found this site, reading about everyone's experiences is quite comforting.
Just have to hold out a little over 4 months!!

Nicole

Both tiny teddy and myself were sleeved by Dolan in Feb

He does an AMAZING job - we were both out within 2 days, apparently he stiches as well as staples the stomach to make sure its all nice and tight (it does feel like a inside tummy tuck lol)

his demeanour is dry and to the point, but once you get to know him he is quite funny. But bloody good.

He is worth it!!!

Hi Kirsty :)

How did your surgery go? I am seeing Dr Dolan in April and will have my surgery at Hollywood at the beginning of August.

It is a while away but will creep up quickly. I am quite nervous, more worried about complications afterwards :/

Did your surgery go smoothly and how did you find Dr Dolan?

Hi Courbeau and welcome to the forum. Congratulations on having a surgery date. I too was sleeved by Dr Craig Taylor so sorry, can't help you with your Dr. Try the surgeons thread, I'm sure there is info from other patients there on him. Good luck with your op.

Hi Courbeau! I am being sleeved on the 2nd of Feb by Dr Craig Taylor at the SAN at Wahroonga. Come to the sleevers monthly section and you will find the February 2012 thread which has all of us Feb 2012 sleevers on it. You will now be the first cab off the rank for February!

Hi Everyone my name is Kirsty

I had my first appointment in
November with Dr Kevin Dolan, and I am due to have my sleeve done on the
1st feb 2012, at Hollywood Hospital, Perth.

The time is going so quick and just under a month to go, can't wait but is a bit scary also.

I
know it is a big step, and a life changing decision which my mum has
told me, as she had the operation done about 14 months ago.

Also would just like to know if anyone has had Dr Kevin Dolan do their sleeve?
