Surgery on the Gold Coast Empty
PostSubject: Any recommendations for liposuction surgeon?   Surgery on the Gold Coast EmptyThu 20 Mar 2014, 2:18 am

Recently I have been doing some research into liposuction brisbane and found once place that seems pretty good but i'm not sure. Does anyone have any good recommendations for cosmetic surgeons in Brisbane. Or if you are from elsewhere what are some questions I should ask a potential surgeon to make sure they have my best interests at heart. Any help appreciated

Dr Jordaan did my band removal in January and is doing my sleeve in May both at Allamanda. Great man, kind, compassionate, understanding...

PostSubject: Dr Jorrie Jordann   Surgery on the Gold Coast EmptySat 29 Sep 2012, 5:30 am

I have previously posted about Dr Jorrie Jordann but want to add a footnote. Last Friday I underwent a complicated gastric bypass with this wonderful man. Once again his attention to detail was amazing!! This man consulted 2 other clinics (one in Australia and the other in South Africia. He also had my case reviewed with Professor George Hopkins. In total 4 surgeons were present during the procedure - one was brought in solely to review the work. Surgery time about 9 hours - 2 nights in ICU. When I said the pain managemnt was not as good he called the gas man and together they reviewed and changed it. I saw him twice a day and sometimes 3 times per day. He checked and double checked all test results and if not completely satisfied he ordered more. His practice staff Keiran and Petrina are also very caring nd involved. In short, this man has given me a new life for which I will be eternally grateful. I would highly recommended him.

Hi

I had my surgery with Dr Nolan at Allamanda and found him to be great. Great staff, great support and straight down the line.

Life couldn't be better and I can't believe how my life has changed for the better. In so many ways.

Anyway good luck. Dr Nolan is the best as far as I'm concerned and many others I have come across say so too.

Hey all,

I had my surgery with Dr Layani at John-Flynn and I can't speak highly enough of both! The nursing staff at JF were amazing, the rooms extremely comfortable and quiet and Dr Layani is really great to deal with, as are all his staff.

I have also been a patient at Pindara (various illnesses as an in-patient and I had my daughter there) and also at Allamanda (I had my gall bladder removed by Dr Nolan and also another minor surgery there).

Dr Nolan was great but my stays in Allamanda have been the worst of all my hospital stays. The rooms, particularly in the surgical ward, are not very conducive to good recovery and they constantly seemed under staffed with nurses. I also hated having to share a bathroom when I felt so awful. Just my personal experience though.

I detailed every bit of my experience at JF if you want a raw honest account in my blog www.lessdangerouscurves.com in sleeve surgery part 1 and sleeve surgery part 2

Anyway, just thought i'd share my experience - all the best with your decision!

Thanks for you reply Mel, however I have not heard good things about John Flynn after asking around a bit more.

I went to see my GP to ask some more questions and he said he does not want me going to John Flynn. The other Dr I was looking at was one my friend had and I have been worried about her after care, esp after people's comments about their aftercare. My GP recommended Dr Nolan at Southport and I rang them and they sounded great, so I'm all booked to see him soon and get the ball rolling.

So here's to the start of my journey....hopefully a new me by Christmas.

The Dr I was referred to has not been listed so far is not in your comments. Will investigate the Drs you have all suggested.

Hi Dr Jordaan is doing my sleeve, but at Alamanda next week, 20/03/2012! So he does not always work from Pindara. Thought I would let you know. Elize

Double Jinx -Mandie & Lulu!

Thanks girls! I actually didnt realise that he did. Im actually really happy with Greg. Had a nice long chat with him about why some Drs to things one way and others do it different. Very enlightening.

He is an extremly cautious Dr. Told him if he stuffed up he'd have to look after my 3 sons. LOL. He actually laughed and said he would be very careful and gentle! Oh and Mandie he gave me a huge discount too! LOl Diff happy now!!Surgery on the Gold Coast 120705 Just have to wait 7 MORE BLOODY LONG MONTHS!!!!Surgery on the Gold Coast 68366

Dr. Jordaan operates out of the Allamanda too, I believe.

He did my sleeve at the Pindara and I can definitely recommend him. I think I've had one of the best progress of anyone I know in December. I had my sleeve on Dec 1 and I'm on normal food now.

I had my sleeve done with Dr Paul Bennett at Pindarra and after 4 weeks in ICU with lots of complications changed to Dr Jordann. Dr Jordann likes to dot every I and cross every t, talks to his patients and the nursing staff just love him. He goes the extra mile as well even attending a test that I was having so that he could see the result for himself. I would definitely recommend him and would not take my dg to Dr Bennett.

I worked in ICU with him and found that his patients had the best recovery rates. He is so approachable both from a nurses point if view and a patients.

All the best for your sleeve Mandi. Mine isn't for a while but it will be great to follow your progress.

I will second Dr Jordaan, I used to be his scrub nurse and he's operated on me twice and I'll be going for a third time in 10 days for my sleeve.

PostSubject: Surgery on the Gold Coast   Surgery on the Gold Coast EmptyMon 26 Dec 2011, 6:38 am

Hey to anyone on the Goldie.

I've done a bit of research both from a nurses point of view and as a patient.
Dr Nolan - allamanda hospital
Dr Jordaan - Pindara hospital
Dr Layani - John Flynn Hospital
Are all brilliant Drs!
Dr Liew is a Dr at Gold Coast Hospital. He will do sleeves but only if referred by another specialist within the public hospital setting. He usually does these surgeries under disguise! So if you need a hernia repair he MAY do a sleeve at the same time. Public hospitals do not make money out of sleeves so are not encouraged. So if you are 150kgs with co morbidities you MAY get a sleeve pubilically but it's a big maybe.

Hope this helps. PM if there are any other Drs you need to know about.
