One word to describe 2011

I had my op on January 10th 2011, so it was definitely a year of change for me.

anticipation!

Skinny!

I have something to be happy about every day.

Pardon me, but mine was pretty SHITFUL.

It's okay, though, because 2012 is going to be HEALTHY.

Brutal/challenging/overwhelming/confronting.
Can't really think if just one.
Finally woke up to our financial errors and got outside help in the form of MyBudget.com - was told by them we were only weeks away from losing everything! This of course sent me into another depressive event which all I can say is thank god for drugs, my husband, and my children. But this lead me into another area I hadn't acknowledged -self loathing.

2012= positive awareness. Sleeve date in September. Life can only get better.

Hopeful (Full of Hope!)

This year has opened the door to new possibilities and a few old ones that I thought were long gone.



For 2012 - Optimistic

I'm going to go through a few of those doors and just see where they take me.




One thing we all have learnt is how unpredictable life really is and how we need to just suck it up and get on with it. Why dig holes that are difficult to climb out of? Just put one foot in front of the other and see where life takes us. Well, that's my own advice to me anyway!
(And yes, sometimes I feel like punching myself in the face ... so I guess it's just more blah, blah, blah. Words need action to become meaningful.)

CHALLENGING

Between juggling a very busy state Managers role, studying at Uni full time, being a wife and mother.. almost ended in disaster, so I gave up my job to concentrate on family.
To better my health I had a sleeve op. Which very nearly ended my life and had me away from my family for far too long.
I couldnt finish Uni.


FIGHTER

I fought to regain my life.
I fought for my family.
I found out I am stronger than I ever thought.
I got through, and believe me when I say 2012 can not come any sooner!!

REVEALING

In many ways:
* Revealed how I was perceived by many others by being a "fat person"
* Revealed the true and fake friends that are/were in my life
* Revealed the people who I can count on to be there for me when I need them the most
* Revealed the true meaning of family
* Revealed a more loving and close relationship with my hubby as we have worked through this whole process together
* Revealed a sexier, more confident and healthier me!

RENAISSANCE - not the historical period, but the literal meaning of the word: rebirth, starting over again, a new life... What a year!

Challenging. It's been a hard year health wise and recovering from this op and broken hearts and so on...

Pro-active.... and I don't mean the skin care range!!

2011: Change. That said, I get bored really easily, so most of my years could be labeled "Change"

2012: Change again - but only because "Grabbing the bull by the horns and living my life" is 10 words.

That is a good one Tash. I do feel like that sometimes.

Kate - What about BAMboozled!???

I really wish I was clever enough to think of one great word that summed up my year. Too much happened both good and bad with the bad outweighing the good unfortunately. Too much stress, too much disappointment and too much unnecessary BS. The sleeve would be my one shining light in 2011. But what a shining light it is. Anyone have any ideas on that one profound word, please, feel free to suggest away.

INTERESTING
Because my life has become so much more interesting since finding out about the Sleeve and joining GSS among other things.
My wardrobe is more interesting too. And my friendships are much more interesting and varied.

mine for 2011 would be

surreal - i say that because at the beginning of 2011 i had no dreams or desires of weight loss surgery. No where near the slightest hint or thought of it.

my word for 2012, well four words

living and loving life - i say this because i want to feel like im living instead of existing and i want to feel enjoyment once more

2011 - Challenging

after losing my Dad in Nov 2010 and dealing with that through early 2011, my mum got diagnosed with cancer. That on top of own health scares, hectic professional life, study and family life in general made the year more challenging than usual.

2012 - Commitment

not just for my family, work and study, but also commitment to me! and its about time!
