| Hey Debbles,
I am only 3 weeks post op and the bloating feeling has gone....I think it lasted about 10 days, so you are in the early days and should feel better soon.
Im trying to stick to 3 protein shakes per day and the rest of the time water, but I know what you mean it is hard work and you feel like you drink all day long!!
Good luck with your journey...sounds like you've had a great start!
Love Cath x
P.S. I still do a lot of burping after water expecially!

| Hello to everyone who was sleeved recently!
I to had my sleeve on the 25/7 at John Flynn Hospital at Tugun, and am feeling guilty for feeling so good. I have had no nausea at all and no tenderness, BUT am bloated! Is anyone else? It is a real effort to get 2.5 litres in each day and by the end am so uncomfortable! I am sipping slowly but like alot of you - it never seems to end! What drinks are you all having during the day - what fits better with you all? Maybe my drinks are not to my tummy's liking???
Congratulations everyone - I love this site and am so pleased to have found somewhere that seems to have answers to everything and is so positive! Thank you!

| Last year my brother and I got tattoos in memory of our Dad and as it happened we got them a couple of days apart. He lives in Melbourne and I'm in Leeton, NSW. I remember he said to me "the anticipation is worse than the event itself". He was right......even though it hurt liked hell and then some. As my op date gets closer his words keep popping into my head.
Good luck Larns5. It will be all worth it in the end.

| Hey Larns
I found the worst of the whole process was thinking about the surgery, and the worry was needless. You will be fine but I know that no-one can allay fears we just have to wait it out. Good luck for Monday, I look forward to seeing progress reports.

| I am soo glad that the Op went well! :0)
I have 60 hours until I am due to book into hospital and start playing the final waiting game before my surgery.
I am starting to get a bit butterfly-ee and just wish it was already done. Had a miserable day the other day and i think it was me finally showing some type of emotion for the op.. that or i was just having a flat day, who knows!! ;)
Its not normally like me not to be upbeat and happy!!
Although I will be so blooming happy when i never have to have an opti shake again! We are no longer compatible..
I hope all the other new sleevers are reovering well, and wish me luck for monday (!st of August, the first day of teh rest of my life!!)

| The sipping stage does pass.. although the most annoying thing for me was water made me very queezy.. I've only been drinking water again for the last 4-5 weeks.
It's also nice to be able to have a good guzzle of water at the gym when I want now too. :)

| Hi Janice,
Glad you got through your op ok....it is amazing how good you feel shortly after, considering they remove such a big part of your stomach.
Just listen to your body and dont overdo it though, as it can catch up with you later. Im 2 weeks post op and also feel great, but feel like my whole day is spent sipping!

| Hi everyone, Well its done! I am home now and feeling really great! The operation was a great success and my surgeon Mr Aly said that I have come out of it so well he was very surprised at my resilience! I truly feel really great. Just taking it slowly. On the fluids just sipping sipping and more sipping. Hope all other sleevers who were done this week are feeling well too. cheers Janice | |
