| I've finally set up the Wii after our move in July this year (mainly to entertain the kids). I love doing the Just Dance games with them. They're super fun and a great workout. I'm not a great dancer so I am sure I look unco but the kids think it's great when Mummy joins in. I sure work up a sweat!
I decided to use "My Fitness Coach" and OMG... I haven't used it since May last year :( So I got a bit of a stern talking to by the the virtual chick on it, Maya. Ooops! I made sure I got workout credit for the 5kms I walked with the family earlier in the week then decided to try a yoga workout. Errrm.... not a fan. I simply cannot spend that much time on the floor...haha. I think I'll save yoga for when I'm post-op and have lost a bit of the flab. Somehow my downward dog doesn't look quite as lovely as Maya's ;) I ditched the yoga and did a cardio workout instead. Twas nice to work up a sweat.

| Hi Val,
I bought one years ago (1st band) and used it for a while then it became a very expensive "decorative item" in my lounge room.
Have been thinking for a while now that I need to get it up and running again (lol need to get MYSELF up and running too !!)
If you do get one maybe we can be training buddies ? Perhaps I could be shamed into using mine again lol.

| Hiya everyone. To all you Wii users, is it worth buying one????????????????????????????????????????? Was going to go and join the Gym but OMG they want an arm and leg for fees. Having been looking around and can pick up a new one with all the bits and pieces for about $145.00, on Gumtree, still in its box. I don't want to buy one if I am not going to use it. I would be happy for any fed back. Val | |

| I bought a Wii console and Wii Fit Plus last week. It is my birthday (next month) and Xmas present all in one. Got a great special from Harvey Norman in Griffith. The whole lot cost me a bit over $300 and got the Wii console with bonus Mario Kart, Wii Fit Plus with the balance board, Wii Sports, Wii Sports Resort, an extra controller and an extra nunchuck. Even the guy who served us there couldn't believe how cheap it all was. The console itself with Mario Kart was something ridiculous like $150. I love it, love it, love it. I can't walk for exercise as I have a really bad foot plus living on a farm it's either to hot and dusty(with snakes) or too cold and muddy with no where to walk to and nothing to sticky beak at while walking. I also have a cross trainer so with these 2 tools for exercise I hope that's all I'll need. | |

| Yes, I agree. Who wants to go out in the wet, cold days, when you can do it in your nice warm loungeroom and not parading in front of those skinny minis, who have never had a day of being overweight. (Not meaning you people who have already lost weight from surgery, I mean the others.) The wii is a good way of starting to build up your fitness. When comfortable with that, maybe then join a gym.
I'll have to get the zumba, and give it a try. Sounds like fun.

| Now that I'm finally under the magic figure for the WiiFit, I'm just wondering if anyone else has bought one, used one, and whether it is any good for fitness at all?
I'm thinking of getting one to ease my way into exercising - something I haven't done for a very long time (as my original weigh indicates!).
Or am I better off joining a gym, or doing Zumba?
Welcome anyone's experience/ideas, etc.

| I agree munderwood, I agree. I was surprised when I had got the bronze, I don't think I would be far off the silver now, however many hours that may be, as I have certainly given mine a workout as well. You should try the boxing, it gives the upper arms a real good workout as well and that can make you sweat. | |

| Hi Everyone
I can definatly recommend the Wii fit to all. I have been using it for a while now, infact my wii piggy is now bronze (a reward for 10 hrs excercise,...not all at once, i think I would have passed out otherwise). My favorite is the step up. I alwasy used to do the step advanced but now I just do the normal stepping , set the timer to 30 mins and off I go while listening to music. Best thing since sliced bread!

| Shaz, I bought myself a wii and the wii fit earlier in the year and just love it. I thought that it would help to try and lose weight before my op and it has, especially on the cold days when a person doesn't want to go out in the cold, have the heater on and wow, a person can really burn up a sweat. I really enjoy all the games on it, from boxing, stepping, snowball fights, karate just to name a few. As I said, I love it and would recommend it to anyone. | |

| Just wondering if anyone has a Wii Fit or if they have used one. Or done Zumba? I want something to motivate and help me do a set exercise. Walking is out for me, (to many reasons to go into, but agrophobia is amongst it), but I really want to do something. So should I invest in Wii Fit? Humm, wonder if I could claim it back on my medical expenses at tax time, lol | |

| I fully agree about it being the best first step. I've now bought EA sports active which is definitely not for someone who is new to exercise (and also I don't think suitable for someone who has never worked out at a gym and been given some advise on muscle groups) which is much harder. I still weigh myself daily and I am looking forward to the time (coming close) when it doesn't hit the top and go "too high". I suspect that will be when I drop below 35.
I've also (yesterday) bought Shaun White's snowboarding which works fulls with the balance board. Real fun and even a clutz like me can get down a run although I'm only on the second slope but I'm OK with that, I always take a long time to learn something new physically.

| I must admit that when I first got it last year I was on every day or so, now it is not getting used very much at all. In fact I got on on Saturday and it said that it had been 72 days since my last visit. Oh well, will try and get on more often. But I do work out at Curves now, so I am exercising. Wii was a great start in getting back into exercise. | |

| Hi FG, I must admit we dont use the Wii Fit as much as I thought we would. The actuall Wii is in daily use and I actually enjoy playing the tenis and boxing with my 6 year old. I do use the Wii Fit on the weekends, mainly because I have become a gym junkie and the gym isnt open Sundays, and I usually cant get there Saturday mornings. I love the hula hoop game and I am really good at it! Trace | |
