| You are only 3 months out, and I think at that stage I probably thought the same thing about meat, so much chewing. I am now 16 months post op, having no trouble at all eating meat now. Find I no longer have to chew it to death anymore!! It all takes time. | |

| Oh, thanks sweety! Yeah, I thought I'd remembered you saying you'd been a veggie before the sleeve - just didn't want to confuse the issue with newbies thinking that they wouldn't be able to meat after the op. | |

| Hi Chris
As my first contact here and biggest inspiration it was great to meet you too.
No I have always struggled with red meat. Was a vegetarian for 13 years, tried some meat again, enjoyed it...... and now just cant stand it. The whole animal rights thing is just an added bonus for me too- cant deal with it.
So probably a heightened problem after surgery. | |

| PiercedMumma, is that a new thing after the sleeve, or have you always had problems with red meat? BTW, I don't know if I told you how much I enjoyed meeting you on the Gold Coast, but I did! | |

| At only 3 months out, my stomach could barely tolerate meat, although I still wanted it. Lots of people find their tastes change post-sleeve, but they usually come back again within the first several months. In the meantime, up your protein in other areas, eg dairy, beans, tofu, etc or add protein powders to your meals and/or drinks, and even resort to Opti if you need to. Make sure you keep track of your iron, too... Chunks of meat are generally the hardest thing, so if you could cope with meat as mushies, maybe take a step back to that for some meals? Good luck, and I'm sure others will offer some useful suggestions too. | |

| I have been sleeved for 3 months now and I find that I dont really enjoy eating meat at all. By the time I have chewed up the chicken and the beef or lamb I dont like the taste or the texture. A tbone steak was my favourite meal pre op but I couldnt even imagine eating it noe I am interested if other people are a bit underwhelmed by meat post surgery and what types of meat people prefer | |
