Tassie, do you suffer from back or shoulder pain? Get a referral from your Doctor if you do. A breast reduction is done in the Public system free of charge.

If I am still big after I lose weight, I am definitely looking into it.

Thanks for sharing ..... always makes you feel better that others are going through the same thing.

I must admit I would love to be a B cup rather than at least a DD.

If money wasn't an object after I loose weight, I would have all sorts of things nipped and tucked. It is for me rather than my husband or what people think we should be.

Now I just need to find a place that doesn't put me into a bra that makes me look like I can sit a plate on top. I was only ever fitted professionally once and that was the outcome. It was horrifying and certainly would not have looked good on a relatively you lady as I was at the time.

Makes me worry about what would happen now!

So many things to do ...... so little time or cash!

PostSubject: Re: Good Bra?   Good Bra? EmptyMon 28 Mar 2011, 1:21 am

I HATE having big boobs! I absolutely HATE it!

My sister had huge boobs, and was able to get her reduction and reconstruction done on medicare. Her Doctor put her on a waiting list for surgery, and she was done FOR NOTHING in a public hospital within six months.

She had developed severe back pain because of the weight of her chest. She is now a nice 12D from a 16F, and her back is now fine. My boobs are still large and I hate them. When you have a small frame and stature, they look out of proportion to the rest of you. As you age, they just look ridiculous.

After my weight is gone, I am definitely going to look into a breast reduction. I have been bigger up the top than my bottom my whole life, even when I was skinny! Men may love that, but it is uncomfortable, and hard to find clothes for!

I was always a size 8-10, but I had to buy size 12 dresses and have them altered all the time.

Bloody boobs!

PostSubject: Not looking forward to grandma breasts   Good Bra? EmptySun 27 Mar 2011, 6:49 am

I am looking forward to a much better figure when I have my surgery and the weight goes. However it is when the bras are off and everything just hangs near the knees that I find very concerning.

Is there anything that can be done or is it only when I wear a good bra can things look reasonable?

Have people found that it is not too bad when the excess weight is gone?

So many questions but lots of ladies with great news stories to share....

I am def generous in the bust area and the one and only question DH has had for me so far was if I'd still have big boobs after the surgery/weight loss. Oh, poor thing. Sounds like he's going to miss them (I think I will too!).

At least I'll be able to try and fold them into some of your suggestions.

Dont always think that you are going to loose your boobs. I was a 26E when I started the weight loss and now 63kgs later I am a 20E and yes they are my best asset as well and hubby is happy I still have boobs lol

I would never buy a bra online, as I like to try them on first.
Being fitted in Myer or David Jones is not much fun, but is soooooooooooooo worth it to get a bra that fits correctly.
A good bra that makes your boobs hoisted up and out, is not only comfortable, but takes years off your age.
Flattened low riders are very granny-ish.

I love Triumph as well
They are the only ones that hold in my bat wings!!

I haven't lost enough on my bust to warrant new bras yet......I was always a 12C. then a 12D, Then a 12DD then after kids went up to a 14E.

I would love to be back at a 12C or D

Well, I like the Triumph minimiser, because since I have gained weight over ten years, and with the four kids I have had over the last 25 years, I have gone from a 10C Perfect! To a 16E cup. Triumph is the only bra that fits me comfortably.

I have large boobs. One of my poor little daughters, the 21YO is a 10F and she is only 5ft1 inch tall!

We go bra shopping at the Myer sales in February and stock up with as many as we can get that fit. I have lost 8cms off my bust in the last few weeks, so I am thinking I may have to get something for the interim.

It would be so nice to fit into a 12D! EVENTUALLY!

Hi Roadtripmumma

I always get the Berlei sports bra's - aren't they FABULOUS? No mono-boob, no bouncing around, great shape and they last, and last, and last (the bra's, that is!). Best bra I have ever had.

PostSubject: Re: Good Bra?   Good Bra? EmptyThu 17 Mar 2011, 10:58 pm

Good News!

I have a happy lifted and separated update!

Went to a different Myer store and tried shopping again without grumpy husband in tow...and still didnt have much luck. I must have tried on 20 bras!

Anyway the sales assistant spotted me, measured again and suggested that I am a 14C or maybe a 12DD and I tried on a few more with not much more luck.

She again saw my anguish (and huge pile of bra's to be put away) and then suggested I get measured again but by the Berlei Rep who was in store that week for specialised fittings..

To cut a long story short...I am a 12E...not a 14C, not a 12DD and definitely not a 10D.

This woman was amazing...she looked at my best fitting one I'd found, said no they wont work for you and told me
what I needed then went and got me 3 bras...all of which fitted beautifully...and as I said I was losing weight she made sure they'd see me through another size reduction or two as well!

She also recommended a sports bra which is good for day to day use so now I have a sports bra I can actually wear outside of the gym.

Bloody marvelous.

So I guess the moral of the story is: Always get a second opinion. Or in this case a 3rd.

Oh and this is probably a good week to go buy Berlei bra's at Myer, just save yourself a lot of hassle and make a b-line straight for that consultant.

Thanks all for the advice. I loved Cacique Lingerie when I was living in the states...so sexy. And when I was bigger I
had been to big girls dont cry...a great store...much recommended if you are in Brizzie...especially those with the very ample cachunga's.

Apparently we dont really lose much in cup size when losing weight as its the distance from the crease to the nipple which should determine it, not just the difference between chest and breast measurements...she said we lose the fullness from the top of the breast and designs that sit low dont work so well, and a bra with full coverage does best.

I love balconette styled bras...and sadly these no longer work...for me for day to day use.

Yeah, I've bought from Big Girls Don't Cry Anymore too. But it's many years since I've had a bra that has been comfortable enough to wear all day, even since losing weight. Won't buy online any more as have to try on first, and even getting fitted doesn't work for me. Just got weird boobs, I think! LOL

I actually bought several today. One of them is soooooooo comfortable and looks good too. It's called Curvations Minimizer bra: http://www.biggerbras.com/curvations/curvation-shapers-minimizer-bra-5304454.shtml
I actually don't find it "minimizing" but it's comfy and holds the sag-bags up!

Hi Deb
Have a look at Big Girl's Don't Cry Anymore. On the Gold Coast we have a Bra's in Paradise. Brilliant supporting bra's, I have only been able to wear their bra's. The one's that are great for me are Panache Superbra Tango11 code 3251. Have a look on the web. I have a few that I don't need anymore. I only used them for about 2 months, if the sizes match I would be happy to post them to you or if you are coming to the dinner at Flames will pass them on to you.

Ebay search for Mytaste Lingerie Australia

Their cacique (sold as Lane Bryant in the USA) bras.
They are the best bras i have ever tried, and so cheap approx 13-15 dollars per bra and free postage.

The have pretty bras, sexy bras (with support), sports bras, bras with wire, bras without wires.
And they come in all sizes.

It takes between 7-10 days for your order to arrive, and well worth it.
I got myself 3 really nice bras for under $50 instead of the $50 plus i would of had to pay for a frumpy one here.

I've seen those bras advertised on tv here and the models all seem to be pretty small up top and I wonder how much support they actually give to us bigger girls!? Wearing two bras at once doesn't enthrall me either!

Hmmm - I've checked out the Aah Bra online, and while some of the comments on it are good, a lot were really bad. Seems to depend a lot on how big your boobs are. Can I ask what size your Mum is? Did you mean she wears two of them at once??? Looking forward to hearing more about them.
I've taken to wearing maternity bras from KMart, as they seem to hold the 'flubbery' bits in best! If you want to know more, I'll look up which ones they are. They're don't hold the old girls up really high, but are certainly better than none, and no underwire (can't wear those) and no back clips either - just a pullover type.

My mum just bought the Ahh Bra... its something she saw on a daytime show advertorial thing and she swears by them now.. I have some ordered.

They come in tshirt sizes - ie small, medium, lge, xlge I think she said it was around $70 for 3 of them (white, black and tan)

when she works out she wears two of them.. they look quite nice - i think they are like a microfibre material? She has around 10kg left to lose and she was so sick of having to buy new bra sizes!

I found a link if you want a look? I will dig out their phone number if you are interested?

PostSubject: Good Bra?   Good Bra? EmptySun 13 Mar 2011, 1:24 pm

Ok,

So Im completely happy with my weight loss so far...only 5 or so kilo's to go to my goal of a BMI of 25. I feel great about everything except.....

What Ive noticed in the last 4-6weeks is that its been from my bust (and Pooch thank goodness) that Ive been losing most of my weight.

The new bra's I bought myself in Oct are now baggy! My tits are droopy and a bit like old balloons....

I was in Myer the other day and got measured and the lady felt I was a 10D....BUT my breasts are sooooo much smaller and the bra's I tried on just either were cut too low under the arm and flubbery skin spilled over there (as opposed to the good old days of the back fat spilling over!)...or I got this weird creasy cleavage thing happening.
Either way not a good look!!

Can anyone recommend a bra theyve had some luck with???

Hubby still likes the saggy and depleted bosom though so thats OK..but I miss my ample bosom!! It used to be my best asset (in my mind at least), and I loved flaunting it...shopping the other day for a new bras was the first ho-hum day Ive had since having this op...and I was a bit shocked I think...to be feeling a bit demoralised by it.

Any guidance is appreciated.
