| Hi!! So i started the weight loss surgery wheel spinning in january 2009. That was my first referral to a surgeon. At the time it was in the public system, so it took forever to get an appointment. Finally i got the appointment and after all the follow up visits and visits to the dietician (which btw the dietician in the public system was not very knowledgable on wls eating) i had surgery scheduled for march 2009. The surgery was going to be VBG - stomach stapling. After doing a tonne of research i decided that it would be a huge mistake to get the VBG and told the surgeon i wanted the sleeve. So surgery was delayed till june. In june the hospital was full and surgery was postponed. Rescheduled to august, again postponed as the hospital was full. Once again i got a date of september. But by this time i had given up. I had got private health in january of 09 and decided to wait to go private.
Now i finally have my surgery booked with Dr Jorgensen on March 10th, and i can actually get excited as it will happen. So thats my story!! I love reading other peoples experiences and advice. I dont often post, i didnt even bother creating an account until i came here and couldnt see all the forums, and so i thought that since i made an account i may as well stop lurking and introduce myself!! So hi!! | |
