| Thanks girls, today the pain has all but gone. I have had issues with my bile ducts and scphincter (I had an ERCP and scphincterotomy 13 months ago). I have a feeling it was probably related more to that but its hard to tell whats what nowadays. I just didnt want it to be something to do with the sleeve. I see my specialist in 2 weeks so I can discuss it all then (he did the ERCP etc as well). Thanks girls :) | |

| Hi, Weirdly you can still develop gall stones, even though you don't have a gall bladder. The common bile duct acts like a reservoir - it's not as well controlled as the cystic duct was (that's where the surgeon cuts the bladder off) but there is still a sphincter, so can still get stones stuck If you're experiencing an increase in symptoms/pain after eating something which has fat (check that it's not something hiding fats c/o some evil manufacturer) then it's something to tell your GP when you go and check it out. It isn't something that generally springs to mind because you'd reckon the stones you produced in you gb would never happen again. Face it, our bodies are evil sometimes.

| Some people can experience post cholecystectomy syndrome... the gall bladder is out but sometimes pain exists that feels like gall bladder pain. Having said that if it has been years and years since gall bladder removal with no issues this is unlikely Does it get worse when you breathe in? I guess if it doesn't settle or gets unbearable get it checked out! | |

| I know the most obvious thing for me to do is ring my surgeon but I just wanted to ask here first... I have had this pain in my upper right quadrant toward the middle and then through to the back. Im 3.5 months out from my surgery. The only way to discribe what the pain feels like is a stich or a dull ache that has been going on for about 4 days or so. It feels similar to the pain I had when I had gallstones but I no longer have my gallbladder. Has anyone had this pain before? Its not bad enough that its stopping me from eating or doing anything, but its uncomfortable enough for me to notice if that makes sense. | |
