I start Opti nezt week so will ket you know how I get on! OKay. That would be great. I will be interested in hearing how you do from preop to post op and beyond. I believe if all goes well, I will be having surgery sometime in the summer next year. So I have a few months to prepare myself. I would love to hear from you privately if possible. - Congrats! Thats about 6kilo I think, already gone!
I agree with Janette - I need the sleeve with the reduction in ghrelin that comes with it. My doc woud get a bollocking if he tried to torture me pre op. LOL Of course if i could sustain 3 cups a day forever, i'd skip having the op!
What do you have in those 3 cups by the way? Protein, low gi, low cal? I try to eat health foods. I eat what I want, but I eat less of it. I always try to have some sort of veggies protein and carbs. I only drink water and to add a little flavor I put in a squeeze of lemon juice. I think what my surgeon is trying to accomplish by having me eat like this is to prepare my body for the post surgery diet so I do not have a shock to my system. I have been reading some of the peoples experience post surgery, and they are having a hard time adjusting to the small amount of food. Hopefully by the time I have my surgery, I will be well prepared for the after surgery. Thanks for your support. Sheila

I have never heard of this before, you are a brave woman, no way I could have done this, thats why I have my sleeve.
But congratulations on losing 14 pounds thats fantastic! Thank you. You would be surprised how full you would feel with 3 cups of food a day. I have not been hungry at all since undertaking this new eating habits. It is training for after the sleeve. I am not expecting my rapid weight loss to stay as is, I will eventually level off. I am still planning on getting surgery. I know that the sleeve is just a tool and I will be prepared for the after surgery diet since I am becoming used it pre surgery. Thanks again. Sheila

| My name is Sheila. I have had my first doctors appointment on November 30, 2010. I have been on a new eating regime as directed by the doctor to train me for my post surgery diet. I am now eating 1 cup of food 3 times a day. I started this 2 weeks ago and I have now lost a total of 14 pounds. I have to go back to the surgeons in January, and if everything is going well, I will be scheduled for a Endoscopy and a pysch evaluation. Then once all that is good, I will be scheduled for my surgery. I feel I am finally ready for this new journey in my life. I have started and stopped so many times and felt so depressed because I felt so helpless. I am now finding I am walking more and preparing myself mentally for the post op challenges I know will lay ahead. I look forward to meeting you all and hearing your stories. I know I will gain much needed strength from you and the courage you have shown in taking on the challenge of you weight. Sheila | |
