Sorry to hear you are doing it tough.
I guess the difference is type 1 and type 2 are completely different diseases.
Type 2 is often described as a "lifestyle" disease - hence can be managed with reduced portions and losing the weight.
You might find if you dramatically lose weight it will have an effect on the amount of insulin you need. However, type 1 never goes into remission. It sucks.
However, there is more promising research being done with Type 1. So hopefully a cure is within our lifetime! Stay healthy until then!!
