Is this normal?

I had that chest pain and was scared to breathe once I started mushies but I was on liquids for the first two weeks. Maybe you could go back to liquids for a while if it hurts too much, 5 days since your op is still very early.

I am feeling exactly the same! It's getting to a point that I sometimes am scared to eat. What makes it harder is that I haven't felt hungry since my op, so don't know when I am hungry or full.

I need to take better notice of that Diamonds. It doesn't seem very predictable. Today it was my weetbix and my cordial. Might keep a record from now on...

Can i ask what your eating, when it actually hurts?

Yup, normal, normal, normal!
The only thing that's stopped for me 3.5 weeks out is the breathing problem. Very normal for stomach surgery patients though.

I'm up to 5 days post op and I stupidly read the thread on complications and am now questioning how I'm feeling.
Can anyone tell me if they experienced any of the following:
- sometimes can eat/drink with little problem, other times can only manage 2-3 mouthfuls
- rarely do I swallow anything without a little discomfort in the stomach area. On some occasions it actually hurts momentarily then passes
- when I take a deep breath in I have a stitch like pain that stops me inhaling any further
Does this sound normal to you?
