| I have moved from most supermarket protein powders which are way to high in carbs for me to body builder ones. My favourite company atm are Balance (http://www.balanceproducts.com.au for the Aussies and http://www.balanceproducts.co.nz for the Kiwis).
http://www.balanceproducts.co.nz/ViewProduct.aspx?id=1251 or sometimes called Summer Protein which is the same thing. It tastes like orange raro. Seriously awesome chilled.
http://www.balanceproducts.co.nz/ViewProduct.aspx?id=1159 The vanilla tastes like a mild coffee latte. Yummy
You could also consider this range that is called Physique (a Balance sub brand) and I found at Rebel Sports. Here is a link from my fav NZ shop (free postage, fast delivery and cheap prices). http://www.punchsupplements.co.nz/supplements/_02_physique-advanced-toning-system.html
Most of the above are about 112 calories, 1gram fat and 1 gram carbs per drink. I have for breakfast or as a snack.

| Thanks ladies for that advice. Oh and carrie thanks for the link that was very helpful. Well now i just feel like a real dope. Lol. I thought it was strange to be called that maybe he did say beneprotein. I must of had a blonde moment thinking that it was protein and it was actually fibre DUH!!!. | |

| Hi LoopyLu,
Benefiber is available at most supermarkets & pharmacies but it is Fibre (ie. to keep you "regular") not Protein. It is a very good fibre supplement though.
If you are looking for protein powder you need to get whey protein isolate. ( What ever you do don't accidently buy soy protein isolate like I did - it tastes horrible) I'm using Beneprotein from my local pharmacy at the moment which is fine but expensive. I will be trying Optimum when it runs out, following a recommendation from another member here.
This is a really good thread with a lot of information on protein powders: http://www.gastricsleevesupport.com/the-post-op-page-f4/protein-vs-fiber-t2978.htm

| benifibre is your friend, it is what gives you the fibre you need after surgery. It is not a protien powder hence you couldnt find it in the section for them. you find it near where you find pandol in the suprmaket. As for drinks after surgery most people like tony ferfuson or celbrity slim these are far better for you than a protien shake as such early out because they are designed to replace meals and have extra stuff in them to give you a boost. If you dont hate optifast they are fine as well. You can also use things like upngo and sustegen. applesauce | |

My fav that I live on is UltraSlim Cappacinno..( they also have choc, vanilla etc) You can get it in Coles for $19, hard to believe its a meal replacement & I am really fussy..I also put 1 tsp of " Natures Way" natural protein powder just for that added protein as I still cant eat meat. Hope this helps
