Light headed & Dizzy? Empty

Hi Denzel, I think you were right, the dehydration is an issue as I am struggling to get the required water in so I went really hard at it and it has improved.  Urine was dark, no odour but obviously too dark.  Thank you for the confidence with your response.  Xx

It sounds to me as though you are dehydrated *.
Ummm...hot weather...and mowing lawns....

Try rehydrating with Hydralyte, Gastrolyte and/or no added sugar coconut water (not fruit juice/Gatorade/"energy drinks", alcohol, soft drinks, cordial etc.  This can make your dehydration worse.)  These products (Hydralyte, Gastrolyte and/or no added sugar coconut water) replace the essential electrolytes that you require, along with helping with problems such as nausea and lack of thirst.  They also make it easier for the body to utilise fluid intake.
Not being personal, how much and how often are you weeing?  What is the colour and the odour like?

And, to be on the safe side, book in and see your GP soon.

Yep, sounds like low blood pressure. Most Pharmacy's have a blood pressure monitor and the chemists are normally happy to check for you.

I was feeling faint, light headed, nauseous, blurred vision etc. My blood tests came back normal. I went to my local chemist and the ladies sat me down with a drink and took my BP. Yes, it was low.

Went to the GP for something else and mentioned it to him, he said my blood tests look fine and not to worry. He did not even check my BP!!

I try not to sit for too long, when watching TV I get up in the ads and have a drink of water that I leave on the end of the kitchen bench for this purpose. It helps.

In the morning I sit on the side of my bed for a couple of seconds before I stand up. Then I stand a couple of seconds before I walk off. I also walk close to a wall where possible, so if I need to I can 'lean' on it if I feel faint.

I make a real effort to eat my protein first, 3 times a day, and usually a snack as well. Multivits are another 'must'.

Next time I see my GP, I will ask again about my BP.

I managed to get in first thing & c my gp this morning, flukes it normally it takes a least a few days. It looks like it could be "low" blood pressure!! Everything else was good, expecially my iron levels. Never had it before & being in the construction game, short term projects, I had regular medicals. Doc said its not dangerously low but because I'm pretty tall it needs to be monitored!! Feel like Greg out of the Wiggles, didn't he have fainting spells every time he stood up lol!!

Hi Kate
I too had regular dizzy spells to the point where I did pass out a few times. I had blood's done and have low iron and B12. I now take one a Ferro-Grad C (iron) and one Sublingual B12 1000 daily and that has helped.
My vision also became effected but this too has been rectified.
Get you bloods checked by the Dr.

Kate, I have been getting this also - also mainly when I first stand up, sometimes so badly I have to hold on to something for a while until it passes. I mentioned it to my dietitian and she seemed to think it was a warning sign I needed to eat more and suggested I add in some extra snacks. My father (who is a doctor) agreed with her conclusion. I've now got to aim for 1600 calories a day.

Obviously this is just my experience though and you should have yourself checked out just to be sure! Hope you feel better soon.

Kate get your skinny arse down to your doctors/surgeons! Honestly honey it doesn't sound right, getting a bit dizzy momentarily is one thing (I get this occasionally) but for longer periods followed by nausea is a worry. With your new job it Is essential that you get it sorted.

Note I sent this on my phone - you know How I hate it - but this can't wait! Let us know how you go luv (c:

Hi All, I searched DIZZY SPELLS and found this thread & a few others so thought I would rehash it. I dont know if the members that started or commented are still around so others may be able to shed some light on this.
I am experiencing dizzyness recently and its a bit worring. I havent blacked out completly & dont have black spots in my eyes or anything like that. I am over 7 months out. I have had my 6 months bloods & as far as I know nothing came back unusual. It happens even as I get up from a chair or the toilet. The dizziness lasts a couple of minutes and then I feel physically sick afterwards.
I am eating between 800-1000 cals a day. Drinking heaps. Have reached goal & weight loss has nearly stopped.

Cheers in advance.

the 2 most common reasons are you are suddenly moving a LOT less bulk and thus moving a LOT quicker and your body has not caught up with that hence head spins etc. the othr is a drop in blood pressure. BUT having said that you should always have things like this checked out by your GP.

I do have to say when somebody is told to do something it does mean on a consistant basis. You need to do that with your iron tablets. It just is no good saying I have a problem I have a solution which I just do not bother doing properly THEN asking what the problem could be. Seriously take them every single day for at least 6 weeks then see if you get results. It could be that simple.

Firstly congratulations on being overweight LOL
Secondly I just got checked myself and my blood pressure is ever so slightly low and so was warned that
I could be a bit light headed. Now hasn't really happened yet but have been told to watch out. This could also
be the case with you.

Light headed & Dizzy? Empty
PostSubject: Light headed & Dizzy?   Light headed & Dizzy? EmptyWed 03 Feb 2010, 6:01 am

Hey guys - its been a while since I've been on here. Things have been going great but just lately I've started to notice light headedness (especially when I've been bending over and then stand up) - it almost feels like I might faint, and then more recently, blurred vision as well.

My last bloods showed I was very low on iron so I've been taking iron tablets for a month or so but probably not as regularly as I should. I've 6 months post op and able to eat plenty and no restrictions on food type i.e. meat, bread etc.

Anyone got any ideas on what this could be? I will of course check in with my doctor but was just interested in whether anyone else shared these symptoms.

Hope you're all doing well - i'm off to the diary & photos page now to check up on you all!

P.S - I just noticed on my ticker that my BMI has finally passed the obese stage - now i'm just plain overweight. Woo Hoo!!
