| hey matt
i'm 7.5 weeks out and sometimes steak goes down really well, other times it doesn't. i was still on mushies at 3.5 weeks and even struggled with mashed potato back then. foods i find the hardest now are fibrous salad items, pasta, and dry meat. sauce always helps but i can't wait to not have everything covered in sauce so i can taste the food and not the goo it's floating in. like lib i often find dinner is hard to digest and have brought it back up a number of times. strange how it affects us all differently. good luck and keep us posted. 20kg is amazing!

| Hi Matt welcome to the forum. Dinner was a tough one for me, for some reason it seemed harder at night!
I am pretty sure that at 3.5 weeks I was still on mushy foods. Have you tried making a vegi and chicken soup? You could blend it all up, that might make it easier.
Who were you sleeved by? Are you seeing a dietian?

| Hi Matt, At this stage you are supposed to be on mushies only however all doctors tell people different things. I did things like tuna mornay and braised steak and then vitamised it so that it was really quite runny. If you are having trouble with a food stop and take a step back. Everything will come with time. Make sure that you have sauces or gravy it just makes it much easier to go down to start with and remember to eat slowly so that you can feel when you are full. I could pretty much eat anything at week 8 but it varies for all of us, I still find that I prefer food with a sauce because it is easier to eat and just seems to slide down better.
Good luck and sing out if you need more help.

| Hi Guys my name is Matt from Brisbane and as it states above I'm 3.5 weeks post op. Every thing seems fine, I'm feeling good and everything is almost back to normal, well as normal as it going to get considering the surgery. The weight lose has been good a lazy 20 kg are ready and I amazed at how the body slows everything down when it needs too.
My only concern is that I'm having a few troubles keeping my evening meals down. I've tried chicken, steak & mince but up it comes. Pasta , baked beans and spaghetti seems to go down. How long will it be until I can eat the chicken and steak from your experiences.
