Low carb and sweeteners.

Yes I bought it at a health food/supplements store.
It tastes just like white sugar to me. I switched over to raw sugar a few years ago so have got used to the richer taste of raw sugar but I am absolutely ecstatic about this product. I had a visit from a friend this morning and I asked him if he noticed anything different with his coffee, he said "nope nothing". He is a real sugar addict so it must be pretty damn good!
Use it just the same as sugar 1 teaspoon of xylitol = 1 teaspoon of white sugar and it looks exactly the same as sugar.

I can't survive without my cup of tea and I have a level tea spoon of sugar.
Do you buy it from the health food store or supermarket ?

Thanks for reminding me about it Kylie. I may still have some pushed to the very back of the pantry. I bought it ages ago and thought it was great but stopped using it for some reason or other. Can't remember why. I might have to haul it out again as I am drinking more coffee than usual and have to have sugar in it too.

My endo dr has put me on a wheat and soy free low carb absolutely no sugar diet.
Now this has always been a problem with me cos I love my coffee and always have sugar in it.
She told me about a natural sweetener that looks just like sugar but is low carb and has 50% less calories than sugar. You have probably all heard about it but I thought I'd mention it. It called xylitol and often marketed as 'perfect sweet'. Was $22 a kilo , I am going to stop using sugar in the house altogether so bought the kilo. I used it on the kids cereal and thier cup of tea's this morning and they couldn't tell the difference. It has no sickly after taste. Its made from corn husks/cobs apparently. Anyway I am rapt with it as I can now continue to enjoy my coffee!!!!
