New and been lurking - South Aus

I didn't have to have an endoscopy. But if it's anything like a colonoscopy, it's nothing to be worried about. They give you really good drugs, you have a nice sleep, and before you know it they are telling you it's all over. Thats all there is to it.

No not everyone has an endoscopy but most do.
It is to check out the stomach and also I believe that they check for hernias as well. They just need to make sure that all is OK before they start the surgery.

Well i had my endoscopy today all went well now one step closer to the big day!!!

I hope you can make it to the get together. The more the merrier. It's great to see the 'long timers' who look absolutely fantastic.

Donna..there's an Adelaide get together this Saturday at Semaphore..check the Sleevers GetTogethers page. I see you have a dietician appt but maybe you can make it.

Just an update i saw Dr yesterday and he has booked me in for endoscopy on the 27th Oct and then for surgery on the 10th Nov so only 3 weeks away...can't wait to start my journey. I have an appt with dietitian on Saturday 24th. I am so excited

And i look forward to going on this journey with Leah as we work side by side will be great to have that support for each other....

It is a bit like a cruise ship. Everyone on here is wanting to be on the same journey. Reminds me of when the family went on a cruise from LA to Mexico. Everyone on board was on holidays so there were no grumpy people or nastiness. Everyone there was out for a good time, all with the same thoughts in mind. Thats what this place is like. Everyone is so helpful and considerate and genuine. We love to hear each others stories. Bit like a mob of sticky beaks but in a good way. So nothings off limits, talk about what you want and ask lots of questions.

Great to have you on board. Gosh I sound like we're going on a plane or a cruise, I wish !

I hope you enjoy reading everyones stories, they are very informative and just about any question can be answered here on the forum.

I am being sleeved by Dr France on 30/11...bring it on I say. My Mum was sleeved by him 2 years ago, you wouldn't know that she had the procedure, except that she eats in smaller quantities oh and she is now 35kgs lighter !

i have been lurking around on here for a few weeks now and have learnt a lot already and i am sure i will learn a lot more.
I have my first appointment with Dr Leong on the 20th October can't wait...
