| Yep, those costs are about right. I also had a hospital excess of $500. | |

| Travelling Fat Girl Slim,
Thanks so much for your reply. It's all so overwhelming atm. We were thinking of going down two days before the op and then staying for about 4-5days after I got out of hospital. Can I ask how much it all costs? Someone I spoke to said they paid $500 for Dr Liew, $500 anaesthetist.

| Hi Hollee!
I had to wait for my private health cover to kick in, so I had to wait a year for that. But I got my appointment very quickly. I had a phone hook up about a week after I emailed him initially.
I was in hospital two nights, and I had to stay in the area for a week. I have family in Brisbane so I stayed with them.
I got a call from the anesthetist about a week before the op as well.
Dr Liew does a post-op recovery of 2 weeks liquid, 2 weeks puree, then on to mushy normal food.
I'm more than happy to help with any questions you have.

| Travelling Fat Girl Slim, Hi I’m from Townsville too and trying to organise my op through Dr Liew. I have a few questions if you don’t mind. How long did it take you to get your operation date once you started the process? How long where you in hospital and how long did you have to stay on the Gold Coast post op? My family will be going down with me so there will be missed school days, but thats not an issue, Just trying to organise length of accommodation, car hire etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated. :)
Thanks Hollee | |

| Yep he is, but that's because there is no real after care with him. It's all followed up with GPs and suggested dietician and psychs. He doesn't have a swag of other specialists or allied health professionals attached. You have to be a bit proactive with your care. He's easy to talk to, and I've found him really lovely so far! My date is just over 3 months away. | |

| Hi, a friend I work with had her sleeve with him last year. He has some strict criteria he uses to choose patients.
1. You must fulfill the Medicare criteria for WLS - a BMI of 35 or greater WITH co-morbities such as hypertension
2. A BMI of 40 or above
3. Full PHI
4. Live in QLD or northern NSW
Cheers
EDIT: she paid $500 dollars for him and $300 for the anaesthetist
