| Great news, am sure it was a relief to have all your results. How exciting, 21st isn't far off at all.
My endoscopy also came back fine bar a few polyps they weren't concerned with (apparently common in people using nexium). My bloods on the other hand I'm not sure about since my GP (who received a copy of the results) called today wanting me to come in to discuss them. I have my final pre-surgery appointment with my Surgeon on Monday though so told them he can fill me in instead.

| I think you're right, willbec.
Well all went well with the bloods and gastroscopy. Just a little inflammation of the stomach lining but nothing really bad. No hernia or reflux.
All booked in for the 21st!!

| Hyacinthus I had the same vague question on my sleeve date post and like you asked for some elaboration with no reply yet. From what I can tell on another thread this person has had some bad side affects they must feel are related to their sleeve surgery so I'd say perhaps they're trying to make others wary....could be wrong though.
All the best with your journey by the way. I am booked to be sleeved on 27th April and have literally just finished all my investigative appointments (dietitian, endoscopy, psychologist etc) today.

| Hi Hyacinthus, Great news! I've bust joined the website and am booked in for my Sleeve surgery 3 days earlier on 18th April!!! My hospital is the Western Hospital in Henley, Adelaide with Dr Chaloob. Also booked into Gastroscopy(Endoscopy) on 30th March and awaiting to hear from my Dietician next week. My bloods were OK except my sodium and cholesterol levels were a bit high....it didn't seem to overly phase the surgeon. I suspect the levels will decrease once I start the Optifast pre op diet for 2 weeks and of course post op. I also was a little worried about my blood test and thought it may result in a fatty liver but it didn't. If it did I would think a longer Optifast diet would be recommended. However things like Hep B or C , Cirrosis , HIV would be be a definite problem for the Sleeve op. Looking forward to sharing the journey with you😀 | |

| Thanks for the reply! Yeah I'm sure the bloods will be fine. I'm sure the gastroscopy will be fine too, as I don't have any stomach issues - well none that are symptomatic at least!
Best of luck on your journey too, Aniseed!

- So I am booked in for the sleeve on 21st April at St Vincent's Private Melbourne (Fitzroy Campus). My surgeon is Salena Ward at MGOS.
I have had my appointment with the dietician and have to have a gastroscopy next week - apparently these are mandatory requirements set by Salena before she will operate. I also need to get my bloods done which I am a little concerned about...
Last year I had a general check up and there were some issue with the blood tests - some high levels of liver enzymes and protein in the urine test. I ended up having a scan on my kidney which were fine. I didnt end up following any further....I know I should have.
Anyway I am really concerned that something may show up in my bloods that will prevent me from getting the surgery. Any thoughts? I thought the blood tests were to check your iron levels? I am new to this too though. I had my bloods done by referring doctor. He said it'd save time. I have my gastroscopy tomorrow. My surgeon explained that this procedure is done to ensure you have no ulcers or tumours or anything else that would mean their way of entering and complting the sleeve would be anything out of the normal. I hope your bloods are okay and let that count down begin for you! Congrats!!!
