I don't mind at all! $5k for surgeon and between &1200-$1,500 foe anaesthetist ... Although they called last week to say the gap will be around $500 ... Hope so, more money for the clothing shopping fund ! 😊

They have been 2 appointments to see Dr Harry and the consultant dr which has been another couple of hundred.

I am wide awake!! 😳 mind working   Look forward to a good sleep tomorrow 😜

Oh! I was just doing some reading on Dr Frydenberg and realised I know his daughter (not well) through my work! Funny :)

Do you mind if I ask roughly how much the out-of-pocket fees are? I was quoted $5000-7000 with Dr Clough (though that was at his other practice, North Eastern WLS, not the Epworth Centre).

Look forward to hearing how you go tomorrow! Console yourself with the knowledge that if you don't sleep tonight there'll be plenty of opportunity for you to rest over the next couple of days ;) xx

Sorry for taking your intro post so off-track, Tonton!

Thanks Luni! I am nervous but know this is the best thing for me 😊

Dr Frydenberg is great! I did heaps of research on surgeon and have decided to go for the most experienced I could find. His resume is very impressive! He has taught most of the surgeons in Melbourne, so I figure he knows what he is doing ... Well, I will know in 24 hours 😉

I really hope I get some sleep too 😴😴

Thanks Lizzbeth! Good luck tomorrow - hope it all goes well and that you're able to get some rest tonight :)

What do you think of Dr Frydenberg?

Hi Luni

It's my turn tomorrow and my surgeon is in the same practice! Harry Frydenberg!

Good luck finding a surgeon

Well, I met with Dr Anthony Clough a few weeks ago and liked him well enough but I was thinking I might make an appointment with one or two others just to be sure.

Dr Hii was actually who I had been planning to contact in the first instance but the receptionist I spoke to was really intimidating and it put me off, silly as that is! He sounds great from your comments though, maybe I'll book in to see him sometime :)

Thanks for the welcome guys!

Luni - Still trying to get the hang of this site... I find it rather confusing.  hehehe
My surgeon is Dr Michael Hii.  I saw a few different surgeons and he was definitely the one who made me feel most comfortable and I felt he was genuinely interested and the responses and outcomes his patients have.

How about you? who is your surgeon?

Hi Tonton! I'm new here too :) Stick around, there's lots of great information to be found.

I saw in another thread you're being sleeved in April, how exciting! I'm also from Melbourne, do you mind if I ask who your surgeon is?

I HOPE I DO WORK IT ALL OUT SOONER THAN LATER (TECHNOLOGY AND I DON'T HAVE THE BEST RELATIONSHIP) AS I WOULD LOVE TO HEAR WHAT EVERYONE HAS TO SAY ABOUT THIS PROCEDURE.

Welcome Tonton,

Don't worry, you'll get the hang of it soon!

When I was a newbie I found it really inspiring to read the diary section of the site. This gave me a good insight into what I was in for!

You'll find everyone is friendly here. So don't be afraid to dive on in and ask whatever you want.

Hi all
Just new to all here and trying to navigate around the site.  Feeling rather lost.  Hope to get the hang of it all soon.
Have surgery booked for April and just want to speak to others going through the same experiences.
