| A big congrats on the weight goal, I know you must be feeling all kinds of fantastic! I'm also totaly jealous of you trying clothes on in store. Although I'm a very comfortable 10/12, I still take them home to try on. I'm impressed that I actually look at more than the size tag now. lol. Yes instead of scurrying out the door with an article that hopefully will make it around me, I can now actually, stop, look think and decide weather to purchase. So go you! Doing so well | |

| Thank you everyone for your kind words, it means so much more coming from those treading the same path.
Quirky - exercise has paid a small part. I walk quite a bit but generally I just try to be more active. I park further from work and walk, I use stairs instead of lifts etc. I've recently being going to a personal trainer as recommended to tone before my next surgery.
My life has changed in not only the big noticeable ways but also in many small ways.
1. I wore a swimming costume and actually swam in front of strangers. 2. I went to a day spa and stripped off to get a massage, feeling no shame. 3. I squeezed into size 10 skinny jeans. Breathing was an issue. 4. I celebrated my sons 18th birthday by going clubbing with the kids and being able to keep up. Realised I'm pretty good at this drinking caper!!! 5. I try on clothes at the shop instead of just bringing them home. 6. Played my first ever round of golf and worked out I'm really bad at golf.
Many more firsts to come as I keep living life to the fullest.

| What a fabulously positive post newmein2014! Congratulations on the well deserved successes you're experiencing.
Do you mind if I ask whether exercise has played a large part in your losses? I'm restricted physically at the moment so wonder how much this will impact on my ability to lose.

| Congratulations Newmein,
You have done so well and should be very proud of yourself. Your post bought tears to my eyes, we loose sight some times of just what we should be aiming for.

| Hi Wendy
Congratulations on your loss so far, you're doing great.
I had a dream run with every aspect of this journey.
At the beginning I counted calories religiously, I realised after six months that for me it wasn't sustainable. Since then there have been a few ups and downs. I haven't gained more than 1kg in a week (Christmas) and I lost it soon after.
I don't get hungry and still have full restriction. The only restriction in the type of food is pastry (bad heartburn). I don't feel that I'm missing out on anything as I eat everything but in very small quantities so the damage is very limited when I splurge.
I'm currently wearing a size 10-12 patiently awaiting my surgery in nine months to remove excess skin.

| Hey Newmein, Congratulations! What a fabulously positive post to read.
I would love to hear what you think have been your biggest challenges along the way and also to find out if you have been counting calories or doing anything else to keep yourself on track. Do you have any issues with what you can eat or the way you eat?
Only answer if you can be bothered, lol. I"m just in an inquisitive mood.
Well done again on your fantastic success!!!!
Cheers, | |

| This week marks a massive achievement which I never thought possible.
Last January my surgeon and I decided on a goal weight of 74kg (he told me I was over-reaching).
I am currently 74kg and couldn't be happier, I had my surgery in March of last year, I silently hoped I could lose the weight in a year but thought it wasn't overly realistic. Almost 10 months to the day I have made it.
I am reevaluating a lot in my life as I now know I deserve a good and happy life. I am looking for a new job as 20 years in a stressful deadline driven job is not what I want anymore (I deserve better).
I've also met an amazing man who treats me like a princess, also never thought this was possible. I had come to the conclusion I was going to spend the rest of my days alone.
To all of you starting out, it's not just loosing weight it's starting a new life, one full of happiness, love and most importantly self-respect.
